Holy fuck this looks so amazing. The models and enviornments are beautiful, like a modern day Freespace which was one of the best games I've ever played. How the hell have I not heard of this before anywhere? When was this released? And why does the gameplay "suck"? Def keeping an eye on this.
I'm hoping that the UDK will be more accessable for the modders and let them make the space warfare a bit more fluid. It seemed kinda jerky before far as boarding and stuff but that can be fixed with some smoothing.
I remember playing this on UT3 it had a lot of potential to be a great game but it was hardly finished. I just hope they incorporate and polish things enough this time when its released to make it fun and playable
This game has some seriously stunning visuals at times. Is there an ETA?
If you liked ES, but thought it was a little too... arcadey, you'll probably love this. Although I'm sad they removed the render target sniper scope, that thing was cash and the new one's pretty shit.
Is there an ETA?
I asked the lead dev earlier so I'll post soon as I get a reply.
Okay, Sounds good
Looks pretty sweet. I'll be watching this thread for sure.
The lead dev said six months but it will release with new features. Looks like hopes for quick relase are shot to hell :S
I checked the forums and he said he wanted to take it "in a new direction" IMO he should release what he's got so people can actually play it, I don't get all these mod developers who don't actually release anything until it's all finished. Part of mod making is making it better as it goes along. People have played this game and enjoyed it, why can't we play it some more?
Bah, 6 months. Well that's a slap in the face :(
Bah, 6 months. Well that's a slap in the face :(
Well if you turn around, it's a pat on the back.
Well if you turn around, it's a pat on the back.
No then you just get slapped in the back of the head. :( This does look pretty awesome. I'll definitely keep an eye on this.
Well then if you turn around and stand up, its a pat on the back. Assuming you are sitting at your computer.

Not something where the mod is half finished, everyone plays and and thinks it's allright, and then he releases updates that no one really cares about anymore because they already played the mod once before. It's better to delay now, piss everyone off for two weeks and then have them love you forever when you release, then to release now, have everyone love you for two weeks and then have them be bored/pissed at you forever. Granted I think it's totally silly to do the "when it's 100% done" approach for a mod, ESPECAILLY for a mod that was already released in some form. Hell for MWLL we have the "when it's done" mentality going for it's development, but at the same time we recognize that we simply can't get all of our wanted features in any reasonable amount of time. Because of this we're going to be releasing a (hopefully polished and bug/crash-free) beta of our mod that just has the nessicary basics in it (but well-done basics), sometime this year.
Looks rather mediocre from all the media. I wish they had made a real-time transition system between space and planets. Having fleets fighting in orbit and sending down dropships and troop pods, while armies fight for territory on the surface would have been great. I wonder if that has ever been done, besides in that completely shitty game Breed, ages ago.
