Too much internet drama on steam for me.
Steam is great. I just wish they further refine the community features. Send messages to your offline buddies. Social networking integration. The good stuff.
I have close to 80 games now. Managing them all as discs or download links on other websites would be a nightmare.
Too much internet drama on steam for me.
What?!
Too much internet drama on steam for me.
What? i think you confused steam with a weaboo chat(i dont understand why they have to be so much stupid drama dammit :argh:)
I like it but I would prefer a hard copy of my game.
Hey everyone is they're a reason It can't be optional?
It is optional, save a few games like New Vegas and Mafia II.
I like steam but i don't like how offline mode doesn't work when you're offline.
I like steam because I don't have a game store nearby, only a gamestop 40 minutes where I live
I love steam, I mean whats not to love? It auto updates, you can message your friends, amazing sales, buying games and downloading them anywhere without a disk, the list goes on.
:frog: And in what way is offline mode garbage? It fulfills its purpose.
I start steam on a computer that is offline but the games are downloaded it does not work and also since steam you can't use one game on 2 computers.
I don't really like it, I like the buying games part but the rest I could do without. I think they should make it optional since VAC is terrible. And steam does not stop pirates.
VAC only bans idiots who use hacks and will probably only unfairly ban you if you modify the .dll, which is stupid anyways, and no DLC stops pirates and that's not the point, it's to stop Day 0/1 piracy.

Sometimes you can get your account disabled or hacked (Something that never happened with discs) [editline]22nd December 2010[/editline]
VAC only bans idiots who use hacks and will probably only unfairly ban you if you modify the .dll, which is stupid anyways, and no DLC stops pirates and that's not the point, it's to stop Day 0/1 piracy.
How long do thing it going to take to crack portal 2 or episode 3 (No Joke) When it comes out? [editline]22nd December 2010[/editline]
It is optional, save a few games like New Vegas and Mafia II.
What are you going on about? Almost every PC game is (At least the AAA Ones) on steam!
I start steam on a computer that is offline but the games are downloaded it does not work and also since steam you can't use one game on 2 computers.
What do you mean? Sometimes I play the same game on two different computers. (On the same Steam account)
Maybe I like actually owning the things I buy not being allowed to use them. Sometimes you can get your account disabled or hacked (Something that never happened with discs) You do not get directly hacked. A long time. Valve is always coming up with ways to change around it's DRM handling so it's never one and the same. [editline]22nd December 2010[/editline] What are you going on about? Almost every PC game is (At least the AAA Ones) on steam! There are good ones not on steam. (Homeworld series, missing sequels to quite a few games, etc.)
Steam is good, but I prefer water. Ok seriously, Steam is good, yeah, but it could stop messing up so much, otherwise it's great wow I'm late at that joke.
VAC is not to do with Steam. VAC is in the games. I don't like how you have to be online to play your games, though. Or is there an offline mode?
VAC is not to do with Steam. VAC is in the games. I don't like how you have to be online to play your games, though. Or is there an offline mode?
There is. Open Steam. Save account credentials. Log out. Enjoy your offline mode.
I start steam on a computer that is offline but the games are downloaded it does not work and also since steam you can't use one game on 2 computers.
You use the same account. If you meant it isn't downloaded on the other computer then... I'm afraid I don't want to help you.
whats not to like about steam? i think it is absolutley perfect. no CDs, no certain limits on how many times you can download your games...
I like it until it crashes for no god damn reason. After 1 hour of waiting for it to fix itself it might crash again. And again. And again. But it's one of the only ways to get original games in Malaysia, so I'm grateful for that.
I don't ever have this problem. You must have a fairly slow PC.
I tried the first one and it does not work and offline mode is garbage. [editline]22nd December 2010[/editline] Hey everyone is they're a reason It can't be optional?
Then it would not stop pirates. (Duh!)
How long do thing it going to take to crack portal 2 or episode 3 (No Joke) When it comes out?
About 3 seconds (gcf is easy to extract) then about never for it to actually work, thats why steam is NOT optional. Its just so much more work to crack it then to just pay 20 bucks for it.
Too much internet drama on steam for me.
Wat So block the people causing/involved in said drama?
I for one fucking love steam. Best shit that ever happened.
Wat So block the people causing/involved in said drama?
how does one block Valve from Steam?
Steam is great. I just wish they further refine the community features. Send messages to your offline buddies. Social networking integration. The good stuff.
Oh man, I'd LOVE if they let you organize contacts into groups, I've got so many people I add, I wish I could sort them by "coworkers" "mappers" "cool people from fp" "fellow tf2 gamers" etc
I once was a major player of Monolith's AvP2, it was probably one of my favorite games of all time. Then, I lost disc #1 and now I can't play one of my favorite games anymore. Steam denies me the option of losing my games (which I lose everything I touch all the fucking time)
I don't really like it, I like the buying games part but the rest I could do without. I think they should make it optional since VAC is terrible. And steam does not stop pirates.
VAC is a good system, what are you talking about? Delayed bans are brilliant
