it's good to know that my games are up to date, and I don't need to manually download 100+1 patches going by 100mb+. PC history: Someone built PC,then came Ethernet and then there was holy Steam, that's all you need to know.
Why would you use steam if you don't like it? There are other ways to buy/play games [other then Valve games and a few others] Steam is great, it means i don't have to keep games installed all the time and can download them whenever i want to play them. The sales are great aswell.
but steam as a whole does.
Nope
Steam is perfect when it has some serious discounts, that's why i'm loving it at the moment
I like Steam. Those sales
Steam is a form of DRM that doesn't actually ruin the game - Unlimited amount of installs, no discs, install on whatever PC you want. It's ALOT better then the other forms of DRM. It doesn't seem like DRM because of all the nice features it has.
and the fact that you can get your account disabled over nothing and lose access to all of your games.
THIS, is the only major thing I really hate about it. I can sort of understand why you can get your account disabled for buying a game, and then your card doesn't have any money, so Valve doesn't get any money. What I don't fucking understand what so fucking ever is: 1. That you can get your entire account with all your games disabled for having someone report you for "scamming" someone of virtual items in TF2, and your account will be disabled until you can prove yourself not guilty. 2. That someone else gifting you a game, and their account not having any money in it, and Valve therefor not getting any money for the game gifted to you, WILL GET THE ACCOUNT OF THE RECEIVER DISABLED for something they did not buy.
It's decent. Annoying that you have to make 6 accounts to access the entire site, but the games run smoothly
I don't like their "We don't give a shit if you're vacbanned, it is always right" policy. Also "do not share accounts do not use another account etc" policy too. Everything else is perfect.
Just take out the faggots that admin abuse, whiny kids, and a system that is so sophisticated that it can recognize a kid's voice so it can the server will auto mute. then it's going to be perfect.
a system that is so sophisticated that it can recognize a kid's voice so it can the server will auto mute
This.
I like steam,i actually love it,with its great sales, cheap game prices, lot of payment support types,if ur game gets fucked up u can just verify integrity of cache,in other words steam has a lot of positives things we can relay on
I like steam, but there is too much red tape and a lack of support for alot of things.
Sometimes I wish steam had a "Burn to Disc" setting so I didn't have to leave my computer on overnight to download a game less than a gigabyte big
Sometimes I wish steam had a "Burn to Disc" setting so I didn't have to leave my computer on overnight to download a game less than a gigabyte big
Doesn't it have a "backup to disc" option?
Steam is awesome. 1) You can buy Games 2) You get updates for your games for free (they're even dowloaded easily) 3) You have a friendlist 4) You can track your playtime 5) IT'S FUCKING STEAM GODDAMMIT!
The only two major complaints I've heard are download speeds and random banning. I can completely understand the random banning but the download speeds can also be the fault of whoever's downloading.
I love most of it's features, however, it could still use some work. For instance, it still crashes a lot for me, you should be able to queue the downloads or set the download speed limit, or there should be an auto shutdown feature, for when you leave the PC overnight in order to download a game. I'm also sick of the Vac "zero policy" bullshit, some people get banned for no reason and valve is like "lol vac is always right period". And people should be suspended, not outright banned.
Backup option is awesome. No download, but you do have to use a lot of DVD's or at least a USB.
I like Steam. No more useless game covers, digital copies are the future! Fuck yeah!
I like Steam. No more useless game covers, digital copies are the future! Fuck yeah!
A shame they cost the same
I like how Steam has this system on some games where you just open the drop down menu on a friend's icon and click join game, and it'll launch the game for you and join the server automatically. I can see how it would be annoying if you're only going to use it for one game.
i would like steam if their checkout actually worked for once.
i would like steam if their checkout actually worked for once.
What do you mean? I`ve bought about 20 games and never had a problem buying them.
I like it but I would prefer a hard copy of my game.
You know what id prefer to be rich and sit on a yacht all day. You cant have your cake and eat it too. if you love disks so much why not just backup the game files, burn them on bluray then print out the box art. There is no point to boxing software thanks to the internet. I bet you dont ask for a CD when you buy an iPhone game (if you own onw)
Oh yeah I love Steam! I just hate the pipes >:C
A shame they cost the same
Publishers don't want to undercut their retail partners. What a shame.
Hey guys do you know how can manually changed a steam game name so that friends can see that altered name?
The only bad thing about it is that you can't "start in offline mode" while you're disconnected from the internet. Other than that steam is eh cool guy
