I think we're getting differing opinions on what's easier, good or evil, based on both games. Some are talking about 1 and the others, 2.

I play black and white 2
In 1 all you had to do to be evil was throw some rocks at things and sacrifice a few people. To be good you had to build shit and constantly work hard to take care of people who couldn't take care of themselves for 5 minutes. All the while keeping your creature happy and dealing with it going on rampages, as well as preserving the environment and fending off any attacks.
And as has been noted, you would often do all this to find yourself still only barely staying neutral.
"milacre"
*sigh*
It's miracle.
First game is superior. With the addition of armies, it took away what made the first game unique, and turned it into a generic RTS with perks.
Its much more fun releasing a pack of wolves to maul the inhabitants of a town then send a boring old army to do it. Or chucking fireballs into their orphanage.

I never used armies in B&W2, those wankers eat too much food and are pretty useless. Usually I built big ass cities without even noticing that I won the level.
I remember this game when i was younger, I never did anything else than fuck around.

Ya, I was talking about the evil route in each game. The city building is quite impressive in B&W2.
why would your creature go on a rampage? if you're good you'll have beaten the shit out of him after he ate a villager or smashed a building by the time you're on land 2
I thought that it doesn`t work that way on the first game.
Lol beating the shit out of my creature is the funniest part of the whole game.
I keep slapping the bitch till he falls all over the villagers and break a house or two.
Shit was cash.
I'm making my creature eat blue mushrooms, but he doesn't seem to eat the red ones.
I play Good, not because of how easy or difficult it is, but cos I feel like a massive asshole when I play evil. Whilst chucking the odd annoying villager into the ocean doesn't phase me, and sometimes your creature deserves a good beating, but on a big scale I much prefer making my people love me.
What happenes when a creature eats mushrooms? Am speaking about bw 1 of course.

If you make him eat white ones, which are quite hard to find, he grows a little in size. I think blue is just regarded as food and red makes him ill.

I have to admit, i'm playing through number 2 again just now (planning a LP for the first) and I've used maybe 1 miracle? The water one, which isn't even very effective. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying it, but I keep thinking about how much more mysterious and unique the first game is.
The ambient music, the tiny villages, the unique rewards for silver scrolls...
I even enjoyed the building mechanic more in the first one.
I hated the building mechanics in the first one.
Having to combine scaffolds and such were a real pain the balls.

Most people tended to do it by taking a scaffold, placing it then rushing to grab another before the villagers began building. If you combine them in the workshop yard, they don't touch it.
Just remembered something from my very first playthrough.
I was apparently as evil as you can get, while my creature was the epitome of holiness.
Why? Because I sacrificed dead people. Yes, I sacrificed SKELETONS. Torching a set of meaningless bones that I can use to bring rain so people dont STARVE TO DEATH is very very evil, apparently, and thats how I got so evil.
Yeah, I don't get it either.
Wow, I really want to play the first one. But it doesn`t work on Windows 7 and I can`t find a fix.
I liked playing with my pet too much, and sometimes he crushed buildings for no reason making me lose.
If anyone is having problems running B&W 1 on Windows 7, this guide sure helps: http://cowgod.net/2009/11/07/play-black-white-on-windows-7/

You sacrificed the souls from the bones?
Awesome, just found my copy of black and white!
Although, as I've been playing number 2 recently, I think I'd find it difficult playing with the old mechanics
That's why it's so fun. :v:
Also, waiting for the LP. :buddy:
Fucking Japanese and their Hurricane wonders.
Oh well, let me just go ahead and build this earthquake wonder...

Then you pet him to calm him down and make him think it's all right.
And start over >:D
You sacrificed the souls from the bones?
But the way a corpse becomes a skeleton is by the soul going to heaven or hell. I'd count that more as a bug than anything.
In fact you shouldn't even be able to sacrifice bones there's no life force left.
ACTUALLY, you should have a graveyard, so your people don't mourn the loss of a dead fellow...and then there would be no skeleton, if I'm not mistaken.
Anyways, regardless of appearance, the game still handles a skeleton as a person. It's activity being "Dead", but, still, you sacrificed a person. Actually, in world 2, when you lay down a skeleton in the reanimation ring, they stay a skeleton, but still jump around all jolly.
Yeah, they could/should have patched that in some way.
Is there anywhere I can buy and download this game online? They seem to not have it at any stores near me and i'm not driving into town to buy it when there's several feet of snow
