The first game was far superior to the second, I'd love a HD remake. Hated how they got rid of your temple in the second one.
I wish I could play the first one again but it always stutters and crashes when I try to play it. :smith:

:gonk:
reinstalling now
i finally beatthe first level of battle of the gods. Shit's hard
I spent 6 hours bombarding the enemy's base with rocks and fireballs from across the level using my extremely limited influence ring, walked my ape up to their base, blow their shit up. Meanwhile I'd build 1000x houses and ampitheaters and they'd join me, 20+ burned down villages all for me! Every level in the second.
Disciple breeder = best job ever.

Haha, the second world you go to, I totally did that to Nemesis' bitch.
both b&w games had their pros and cons.
i would love a mixture between both.
the first one was SO epic because you didn't really have a hud. the second one was too technical.
city building on the other hand was super awesome in the second one and quiet a pain in the first one.
the creature in the second one was much too simplified in my opinion. rub belly or hit it and with a slider to see the effects.. yawn.
in bw1 it was totally mysterious how your creature would evolve. i once had a creature that had the habbit of roasting sheep with a lightning spell and eating them afterwards.
Why does everyone say the first is better?
I've played both, and the second one just seems better to me. :raise:
Because the first one is like a game where you are a god with magical powers and shit.
Second is Sim City: The poor RTS - TICK TICK TICK edition
Humans should be able to take care of themselves more. I'm their deity not their god damn city planner.
And having all text info on what your creature was thinking just sucked the magic out of him.
The first one was magnificent in that it had basically no HUD whatsoever. Everything was in the game world.
Moulinex stop making Fables and make B&W3 already (not on Kinect, please).
Are you kidding? Kinect would be perfect. Control the game with your actual hands. They had some potential going on with the glove thing but it was just gestures for mouse clicks so it sucked.
level 2 melee army with 303 men

IT WILL SWALLOW THE NORSE
B&W2 was literally one long tutorial and completely lacked the non-linearity of the first game which is a massive minus in my book.
I enjoyed the improved city building and lovely graphics but that was about it.

Once made an army of 2000 men. Shit is fucking boss.
The problem is, there are far better city games. And there are far better RTS games.
But there is only one true god (game :v:)
I must find this game again.
From Dust is pretty much going to be B&W's spiritual successor.
Oh man black and white
The game that made me realize how much of a dick I am
Here's what I mean: in the first level, when you're getting the three keystones to open the gate, there was a woman who had one in her house. She'd give it to me on the condition that I find her sick husband out in the woods and bring him back before he dies.
I smashed apart the house with a rock and took the stone. When she gave me attitude about it, I went out to the woods, found the sick husband, and flung him about till he died, then dropped him off at her doorstep.

My creature would always take a shit in the middle of town and fling its turds at people and buildings
I spent so long in black and white beating my creature because i would not do anything other that water trees, he eventually got out of it.
I preferred the first one because it was alot more fun with its masses of miracles and creature chooses, the temple was also a good thing and should not have been removed.

Oooooooooh, We've got this notion that we'd like to sail the ocean so were building a big boat to leave here for good, we're not keen on sinking so that's why we're sitting thinking cus we built it to big and we've run out of wood, Iddlle iddlle e iddlle iddlle e we simply cant leave til e get some more wood.

It can actually be really beneficial and a huge help if you haven't got much wood if your creatures waters trees. I taught mine to collect a random tree, continually water it next to my village so thy loads of sapplings grew and then make sure his little creature made forest was either continually growing or at least had plenty of trees growing at any one time.
Also, I once scolded my creature for crapping in the village centre and not at the base of a tree, so he grabbed a tree, planted it in the village centre and crapped under it :v:

Also, if you be benevolent and help those sailor that sing that song, [sp]you unlock a polar bear as a creature on the last land against Nemesis[/sp]
I used to choose that sheep creature you unlock when you get all the sheep back to their shepherd in the first Island.
In the second game I either took the wolf or the cow.
Did you know?
Your creature can be taught to crap in farm fields, which then provide free fertilizer and accelerated growth

Everyone who read that in PC Gamer magazine did that.
k so does the first one work on Vista? I want to play it again but I dont feel like going through the hassle of Vista's compatibility issues. :/
Also, what about a modding community? Exists?
Everyone who read that in PC Gamer magazine did that.
Well I don't read pc gamer (or any gaming mags) but I didn't figure it was an uncommon thing
This fucking theme... I will never be able to purge it from my mind.
And it's like 10 years ago this god damn game came out already and every night I hear it.
Over and over.

On a related note it shall say your name if it's common.
So apparently Pepe is common in the English language? Wow.
I was playing the second one recently as it happens. I'd like to play the first one again though, the creature was much more dynamic and took time to learn things.
I was quite young when I played the first game, I think I only ever reached the third island or something.
The first game really is one of those ones you play as youngling then really start having fun when you reinstall ita few years later and you're old enough to appreciate the actual challenge in the game.
I tried reinstalling it after I got vista but it would only ever go up to minimum graphics. :(
Like... 640x480 minimum.
That's not even playable on a 22" LCD.
Deaaaaath.
