I remember getting to the nord level on 2, I nearly punched the screen because the guy wouldnt goddamn shut up.
"LET THEM BUILD! WE WILL JUST HAVE MORE TO DESTROY!!!"
And even though I didn't have an army and my creature didn't leave my city, he'd still constantly say:
"TO ARMS MEN, THE GREEKS ARE COMIIIIIIIIIIING!!!"
Did you know?
Your creature can be taught to crap in farm fields, which then provide free fertilizer and accelerated growth
Holy fuck, I always told him not to do so because I thought it was bad :frown:
Also the original B&W logo is fucking awesome.
hey, i found these:http://www.kayssplace.com/files/index.php?category=22
if anyone remembers on the 1st land when you click a silver scroll on a hut away from the village he says "go away, i have no special creatures for you"
I loved the first game, even though I too got stuck on the revisiting of the first island. Those fucking fireballs...
I love the second one as well, although it took away a lot of the stuff that made you feel like a god. The laughably small area of influence is one such thing. Looked for mods to fix that, but didn't seem like anyone managed to do something about it. Miracles was also not as fun, and the creature was dumbed down to much. The city building was great though. But I love building stuff, so of course I would like that.
I'm right there now. THOSE FUCKING FIREBALLS.
Fuck, at least you can throw them back and teach your creature the fire ball wonder.
They're working on a game called "From Dust" which is supposed to be a spiritual sequel to them.
The name alone sounds good.
My creature tried to throw a fireball to an enemy platoon.
It fell on a group of people that wanted to join me, almost everyone of them died.

They stop eventually. I think you have to win over a village to do so though, I don't remember.

Just like Evil Genius was a spiritual successor to Dungeon Keeper, i.e. BALLS TO THE WALL AWESOME?
I found Battle of The Gods really hard. But I was kinda young when I played it, perhaps I'll do better now.
Just bought Creature Isle. Plan on buying B&W2 and it's Expansion when I get payed.
I remember when i walked about 2 miles to buy this game

From Dust Tech Demo

From Dust is basically Black and White 3, however, from the trailers and videos, I don't know whether or not you can control and build societies, it would be awesome, seeing as the tech put into it is amazing.
There aren't any giant animals you can hit and abuse though. :smith:
Oh my god, thanks for this thread. I loved this game as a child, it was one of the first computer games I really played. I'm feeling so nostalgic right now that I'll probably start replaying it - why aren't these wider known, or why aren't there more sequels? It was an amazing game idea realized pretty well.
Couldn't you unlock other animals, too, in the first one? Either there was a cheat to do that, or you could unlock more and swap your animal with one of them, or maybe they were only NPCs, I don't quite remember that...
The good games dont get the attention they deserve.
If they did, they would become shitty places anyway.

There were creature trainers hidden throughout the game where you could exchange your creature for another. Retaining his skills and personality of course, but getting the new species attributes too.
I think you had to unlock them somehow on top of that too.

I changed mine a few times but kept going back to my Tiger. I felt too attached to it :3:
Am I the only one that chucked a metric fuckton of supplies through the portals at the end of each island? I would seriously uproot every tree, and grab every grain, and hurl them all into the portal. Along with several one shots, and every man, woman, child, pig, cow, giant tiger beast, rock, bigger rock, beach ball, scaffold and skeleton I could get my disembodied hand on.
...It was hilarious seeing people twirl around in that thing.

Dear God, yes.
I just felt like I had to do it because I had grown attached to my city and wanted to do right by them every time. :3:
I wish B&W2 had online play or skirmish mode.
Fuck Fable, give us another B&W game more similar to the first please.
A HD remake of the first game with nothing changed would be godlike.
Also this, all kinds of stuff related to B&W if anyone is interested.

Problem is, I usually brought so many people along that the food was gone extremely rapidly, and there was mass death from starvation.
Remember the fucking giant creature that trains you on the first land? It was always a bear for me (because I had the ape) but I think it could be a lion or sheep as well. Cool guy.
...Liked to sleep a lot though
One of my favorite game series.
Though, I liked the first one a lot more than the second.
Holy fuck I actually got B&W to work! All I had to do was uninstall and reinstall then goto setup and custom setting. Then set everything to high. It works perfectly now. I'm so happy.

Wait, it's not Lionhead who are making From Dust, right?
yeah, i did throw everything I had into the portal, not everything on the map tho, just all my shit i've built etc, and trees.
they sometimes landed on people though and they got hurt, annoyed the shit out of me.
Reach end of land.
Spend 3 hours pouring the whole land into the portal.
