• Activision axes Guitar Hero series and new True Crime game

Why can't United Front just find another publisher for True Crime? But Activision is still the worst publisher in gaming. It's really just getting to the point of obnoxious the things that it does and the way that it thinks of gaming - not only Bobby Codick (though he's the easiest to place the blame on), but the company as a whole.
I hope Activision drives themselves into the ground
It's completely understandable. Activision isn't making much money from it's franchises so it obviously has to cut a few. For example, Call of Duty has only decreased in popularity/sales since the second game to the point where it's amazing that they can afford to make new ones, and last I heard their partnership with Blizzard was in name only and they hadn't made a penny from it. It's a shame because their CEO was always such a charitable person. :downs:
Well, maybe Kotick's private gold-plated money pool had sunk down from being 12 meters deep to being 11.7 meters deep, and they needed a few thousand dollars to fill in that gap, since the pool is the size of eight football fields.
Activision sucks dick. And on the subject of Tony Hawk the best one will always be American Wasteland. Hands down.
are you a fucking idiot, because THUG and THUG2 were both better than American Wasteland, even though i loved THAW too. also good riddance with guitar hero. rock band is so much better.
i feel like none of you play guitar hero
I remember that not that long ago they said something along the lines of extruding out 4-6 Guitar Hero games a year for the foreseeable future, regardless of how they sell. Looks like someone has some words to eat.
i feel like none of you play guitar hero
I played the absolute shit out of 2 and 3 :saddowns:
are you a fucking idiot, because THUG and THUG2 were both better than American Wasteland, even though i loved THAW too. also good riddance with guitar hero. rock band is so much better.
Anything other than THPS2 or 4 is smalltime anyway
i feel like none of you play guitar hero
really cause i own every single version of it, including the little shitty track packs for the PS2
i feel like none of you play guitar hero
DJ Hero :smug:
Can't say I'm surprised. Now, let's bet on how long will Call of Duty survive. I give it two years until it starts to struggle like Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk did. And boy, when it will be gone, I'm not going to miss it. Shame about True Crime though. I wasn't sure whether I would buy it, but I definitely wanted to see more of it.
Great, more CoD horseshit, thanks to Guitar Hero being axed. If it was CoD instead, I wouldn't miss it. And axing True Crime, what the hell, give it to EA if they don't want it anymore, at least they didn't ax anything, recently(damn you EA for ruining westwood, they made one of the best rts games). Each news item about EA or Activision, it seems Activision is getting worse, and EA is getting better.
I dont care about GH after 3 anyway. And i dont like Activision either.
Oh fuck not True Crime. I live in Hong Kong and it would've been fucking awesome playing in my own city,
this better be a fucking joke otherwise i'd do anything i can to indirectly eliminate kotick
Even if the guitar hero games have become cash cows, there are still people who enjoy these kinds of games so literally axing an quite big cash cow is kind of unexpected.
Warriors of Rock had abysmal sales.
Rock Band wins.
its probably because of the massive flop of tony hawk shred and DJ Hero 2, true crime looked great hopefully someone else will pick it up and bring it out, only disapprove with True Crime is that they seemed to of left out the arresting and frisking factor which made the game excellent

This is kind of stupid though, is'nt it? I mean, personally i haven't played any guitar hero games since the 3rd, but as far as i know they are still very popular, and would probably still sell somewhat. And motherfucking true crime, im so mad at that, even though both L.A and New york where incredibly buggy and really reall unpolished, i loved them a lot, and i was thinking that if they got most bugs ironed out and had the time to polish it a bunch, Hong kong could be a really fucking good game, possibly one of my favorite's of the year.

Oh Bobby, Hell hath no fury, like the relentlessness of Call of Duty. :allears:
I have never felt so angry at Activision. Fuck them all i hope Bobby loses his job and gets punched in the face by a Gorilla.
Let's hope they don't ruin there chance at redemption with this by making it first person or some shit like that.
I can see it now, "NEW FALL CAMO ONLY 400MS POINTS!".
Damn I didn't even hear about the new True Crime game, but axing Guitar Hero makes sense, they milked all they could from that name
Canceled
http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/10/guitar-hero-and-dj-hero-dlc-dead/ So much for DLC...DJ Hero DLC?? :(
This and Pro Skater 2 to 4 were pretty good IMO....but since THUG 2 it went downhill and died with Ride [editline]10th February 2011[/editline] A good ceo makes money while making a good image out of him....Kotick makes money, yes, but makes a cunt out of himself
Reminds me of this:
