Carmageddon Reincarnation is on Kickstarter and needs our money to get done!
At this rate they'll reach their goal but that will only get the PC version out with the least amount of content. It's weird cause in the beginning there was such an explosion of pledges I thought they'd get their goal in a couple of days.

they need to put video updates up
If it makes less than 7500 bucks per day, it won't even reach it's goal...
They need more advertising and juicy teasers.
It barely got caught in any news sites radar.
Carma 2 was the best racing game of all time. Reincarnation NEEDS to be made.

It will go up towards the end, trust me it'll hit the goal.
A crappy iOS game raised $150k on it's last day.

It all depends upon the media coverage it gets man.
I know the game you are talking about and I was shocked to see it raise so much money in it's last 6 hours.
The question is, where do those money come from in the last days?
Who donates all those money all of a sudden?
Why can't they donate now? Why wait to the very last second and keep everybody on the edge?

Guess they hope they don't have to spend some dosh on seeing it become a reality, but when there's only a day or 2 left they panic and finally cave in.
Makes sense if you don't have a big amount of money to throw around, yet still like the idea.
If you back 1,000 or more you get a pedestrian in-game with your face on it, that is fucking clever.
So they've just put up a video update!

I don't think they should have jumped on the kickstarter thing so early after the success that Wasteland 2 was. A lot of people, like me, have already put money down for W2 and now I don't have the money to pledge. I'm sure a lot of others might be in the same situation. Also, games like Diablo 3 just came up but I'm not sure whether or not that would have much effect.
I just think there might be more to kickstarter than proposing a good idea and everyone just backing it up. The right time to share the news is probably really important if they want to reach their goal easily.

Yeah that could be very true.
However, I'm sure that they will reach their goal.
And if other donate too, they can even smash the goal.
I thought for sure this was going to hit the goal by now. Pledges have really slowed down after the initial explosion.

Yeah, because none of the important gaming sites talked about it.
Gametrailers, IGN, gamespot, kotaku didn't say a single word about it...
Come on people, imagine this with modern graphics http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIRcz8X_HZo , It can be a reality!
News:
The devs are offering 2 Eagle miniature replicas + every other reward like a physical game box and t-shits if you pledge 150 bucks!
If you already donated 150 bucks you will still also get these 2 collector's edition eagle cars added to your reward on kickstarter.

If reincarnation is even remotely as much fun as carmageddon 2 (which I still play from time to time), they'll [sp]save pc gamin!!1[/sp] create a hit!

Yep, they will prove that carmageddon can still exist and be relevant today!

Well, here is some table-packed Questions/Answers from the reddit night: http://www.reddit.com/r/tabled/comments/tvtj9/ There is some interesting informations, like:
-The game's going to be really tweakable for performance
-Faye may come back as Die Anna alongside Tony
-Easter Eggs and puns there will be aplenty… :)
-Definitely closer to C1 than C2. The C2 missions - as you rightly point out - were a mistake.
-the game will be very highly moddable, and you'll be able to drop in what ever kind of victims you
fancy.
-all vehicles will have drivers who can be ejected throught the windshield in a heavy impact.
-we'll have a very wide range of appropriate peds, for all occasions and situations.
-stadium and football players will be back
-We're really confident that the campaign will be successful - it doesn't feel right to speculate about a different outcome!
-We think our game stands out from the crowd because of the qualities that made it great fun the first time round. Comedy violence, do what you like gameplay, and a general touch of surrealism to the proceedings. We want to retain and celebrate all these elements, and we're confident that a new generation will enjoy them the same way we still do.
-We're still in the umm and aah stage over the new Eagle design. The big bike style exhausts are cool, and I'd like to use them somewhere even if it was on a different car.
-Splitting is back. And so is spitting. And spiffing.
-There will be "feature" geometry that can be trashed, lots of lamp-posts to use as pedestrian pool cues, and of course masses of GLASS!
-what we'll be achieving though is going to be far more complex and detailed than the original games. We aren't starting from the original geometry and HDifying it though.
-we're still toying with the stages of visual upgrade... It'll come down to time and budget whether we can do it, and the morphing.
-We are VERY happy with the way the physics is feeling - as we're rebuilding the city level map, we've been tuning the handling for a Carma 1 "feel".
-There is certainly going to be extra rewards for those people who like to explore :)
This game cannot turn wrong!

Enjoy!
That's just prototype stuff, it's not how the actual game is going to look like.
The red eagle car is not even the car model that they will be using.
They already said they got the car from turbosquid to throw that small video together.
Nothing is textured, the physics are not even close to being done, the gore is not implemented at all, and they are still contemplating at the art direction.
So that stuff there is less than prealpha.
By posting those gifs, I was not implying the game will looks like that, It's just to have a quick view on how the game is today.

Ok, no problem.
I thought you might be under the impression that, what you see there is indicative of how the final game will look like.
I hope other people who look at those screens know it will be quite different, if you look at the concept art from Carmageddon1, it was different too.
As far as I'm concerned, if the final game looks like this, I'm fine. Carmageddon was about great car physics, and comedy violence.

They already said it wont look like this.
They don't have the render fully written nor the art.
They will get to the important stuff only if they make it with the kickstarter project.
The work in progress footage is already looking good. Also just passed $300.000.
Hey guys, there is some NEWS from the kickstarter updates page! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/stainlessgames/carmageddon-reincarnation/posts
-> For 15$ you get the game on steam, + a DRM FREE version later for singleplayer and LAN parties!

^ You can watch Sim and her lovely accent explaining what are the new rewards. ^
Stainless really sounds like the best company with the best attitude in 2012. They are making shits done the way the fans wants it, in a good way.
Here is a copy/paste from the new stuff on kickstarter for the lazy ones:
Returning features
· There will be a return of the American Football players and stadium (including the Electro Bastard Ray power up placed in the corner!)
· Include a classic sound set – for those who didn’t know Nobby was 90% of the non-female character sound effects!
· We love the severed hand and would like to bring it back
· The Damage gallery after the race is returning
· You will be happy to know Dr Kev and his awesome physics are returning!
· Handling should feel like Carmageddon 1
· We are keeping and even expanding on the massive environments
· Car splitting is going in!
· Classic Carmageddon animals will return along with new animals!
· Lan Multiplayer is something we want
· The game will be highly moddable! – including skinning pedestrians to how you want!
New features
· There will be extra rewards for people who like to explore
· Old people sporting oxygen tanks that go BOOM (suggested by Mad_Maxine) are going in!
· Drivers are not going to be running around but vehicles will have drivers who can be ejected through the windshield in a heavy impact. (Although some drivers may actually turn up as special, high value peds in certain levels...) ;)
· Easter eggs will be in the game
· Solid granite pedestrian power up
· Splatter decals on the car bodies
· There will be leaderbaords and achievements!
· There won’t be massive destructible environments simply because of the time and resources it would take up, there will of course be feature" geometry that can be trashed, lots of lamp-posts to use as pedestrian pool cues, and of course masses of GLASS!
· There will be lots of cool stats to look at
Other
· Carmageddon & GOG – “Stay tuned for further announcements... ;)” we can confirm we are looking into this at the moment and will let you lot here at Kickstarter know as soon as we know more!
· For those that choose the “be a pedestrian” reward it’s as simple as sending a few pictures of yourself in good light!
· We are currently looking into using the original sound track for Carmageddon! This is something we want too!
· Carmageddon: reincarnation will be more closer to Carmageddon 1 than 2
· Number of peds per level will vary depending on the environment, our prototype city level has 1500 for a nice level of density.
· Steam workshop is something we are looking into
· We have to balance level of detail with maintaining a consistent high frame-rate
· When we say the pope wanted it banned it turned out to just be an MP called Greg Pope J
