And it's funded!
So I went to get breakfast, and I mentioned Carmageddon Kickstarter had 11 minutes left, and my brother was in earshot. Long story short, there's 97 seconds left on the kickstarter, he's telling me his Kickstarter password 'capital P, capital R ...' as I couldn't remember my amazon password on the other computer he was logged in to, and he pledged $15 with 21 seconds to spare.
But yeah, I've been watching all day with my beady eyes. They said they'd still do a Linux port even if they didn't read $600k, when they were at $580k. Lovely indie devs.
Carmageddon 2 was my childhood, and boy do I love it. Open worlds, powerups that aren't worthless like most games, everything was awesome about this.
I'm so hyped because they know what they're doing and they care about the game.
$625,143 is the final sum.
Nobody can donate anymore, this was it!
Thanks to everybody that donated from here.
If even one person donated after they read this topic, then I can be happy that I contributed to this project's funding!
I heard they will make a PayPal donation method later, and even if they didn't smashed the 2nd stretch goal of $750,000 , they will still make all the features they said (linux/mac, split scree/coop, pratcams).
Now all I want is Carma 1 on GoG so I can play that in the mean time. i remember it being a bitch to run on modern comps, and it being on GoG will be perfect.
Well, while waiting for the GOG version, you can manage to install carma, be sure to have the '95 executable, and run it with Hifi's direct draw emulator (it's just a .dll to put in your install dir) http://hifi.iki.fi/cnc-ddraw/ddraw.dll. For me, it work perfectly fine in hires parameters under W7 64bits.

I wonder how well I can get that to work in Unix..

The crew behind Carmageddon has already handed over a copy of the original Carmageddon games and their blessings to GoG.

I know it's on fucking gog, I mean when IT IS ACTUALLY AVAILABLE on GOG, RIGHT NOW IT'S NOT.
FUCKING BUYABLE.
AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE.
Well, if you really wanted to support it, you could pledge, or wait for it on GOG.com.
BUT! Carmageddon is easily found around the web, as I said a hundred times, getting C1 running on modern computer and enjoying it, it's available RIGHT NOW, with a little researche (see my above posts) ! :)
Thing is I couldn't pledge, as I didn't have money up until now.

Guess I'll try the other way, but I never had any faith in just using dosbox with the glide thing. Tends to fuck up more than it works.
Don't use dosbox, launch the game with carma95.exe -hires, hail to the glorious pixels!
Well I think it's a good day today. Since we don't have a megathread (yet) I decided to bump this thread for this:
