fly by? Elon Musk ‏@elonmusk Dragon fly by of Space Station planned for 12:47 am California time. All systems green. #dragonlaunch
NASA wants them to do a scheduled flyby tomorrow morning in preparation for the docking. Once they fly by they'll come back for a holding position until the docking takes place.
hmm... so they have to fly past it.. then hit the brakes... sounds like some kind of car chase ending maneuver lol.
It's actually going to loop around the ISS, then do a couple of test moves while getting closer and closer to the it. [editline]24th May 2012[/editline] This is up first: The ISS crew will also communicate with it and send a test command to turn on a strobe light.
LAp can you fraps the fly by and post it? all these up late for rocketry is killing me, night :D

Here's a couple photos of the Dragon flying about 2.4 kilometers below the ISS: Approaching from behind (herp)

There is a video on Nasa's website of it flying by. http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/videogallery/index.html?media_id=144472261

I wish there was a way to import spaceplanes to the VAB, and vice-versa.
I wish there was a way to import spaceplanes to the VAB, and vice-versa.
you can just copy the file from VAB and put it in the Hangar folder and vice versa. Then just click the command pod item and it will reorient it correctly. but don't remove any parts form it cause they will not go back on the same :)

They definitely do need to add a more effective way to do this, though. And attaching two separate ships in the same VAB file.
Whoa SpaceX is really building that falcon next gen quickly 0__O Also, in this picture you can see Dragon on the upper right flying over it :D
Is that cilinder a testing rig or an actual stage of the Falcon? It'd be weird having that out in the open like that.
Is that cilinder a testing rig or an actual stage of the Falcon? It'd be weird having that out in the open like that.
it is a first stage tank with out anything attached :) I am curious as to hiw the legs work. if i cna see them animated will defiantly make a set for KSP as super heavy gear.
Guys, how do I manouvre my airplane normally? I really SUCK at steering, I'm using WASD at the moment.

They don't look the same as the ones in that video. Unless I'm not looking at it right.
Guys, how do I manouvre my airplane normally? I really SUCK at steering, I'm using WASD at the moment.
Add control surfaces and canards. Canards are optional but control surfaces are not.
Those legs look really bulky and big. They don't look the same as the ones in that video. Unless I'm not looking at it right.
it is just a test rig. just an engine and software test probably. the one in the video is much more stream line. ' Also.... and close up's of Dragon!!! when/what time is it going to dock? http://www.flickr.com/photos/nasa2explore/7263995866/
and close up's of Dragon!!! when/what time is it going to dock?
I think that it comes whenever NASA gives the go, but I'm asking on Twitter when it's planned, because I can't find it anywhere. Admittedly I haven't looked really hard. [editline]24th May 2012[/editline] Oh look here on the Flickr page for that very image:
On May 25, Expedition 31 Flight Engineers Don Pettit and Andre Kuipers will use the Canadarm2 robotic arm to grapple the supply ship about 8:06 a.m., with the berthing to the Earth-facing side of the station’s Harmony node following about 11:20 a.m. Dragon is scheduled to spend about a week docked with the station before returning to Earth on May 31 for retrieval.
(EDT)
