Cardboard what did you mean by your reply to my post? I don't understand the answer, I think you quoted the wrong person, lol.
If I had several hundred million dollars I would try and get moon rovers on the moon which are remote controlled and people can rent and explore the moon via their PCs lol :D
I think you'd get a lot of complaints from people trying to control their rover(s) when they're on the dark side.
Even more complaints when one falls over and nobody's up there to fix it.

[t]http://puu.sh/wFs7[/t] First time landing on the moon after 6 attempts, fuck yes. Lost one leg in the process of landing tho [t]http://puu.sh/wFJR[/t] second landing, fuck yeah no legs lost
Dragon is now within 10 meters of the ISS http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/station/living/index.html
Just found v 0.8.0 on my old computer Back when all there was to do was fly into deep space, before orbiting, before the Mun and Minimus, before planes. And all of my rockets were terrible and most exploded on the launch pad.
Wow, I forgot there were hills and lakes there.
Don't forget the solid water.
So what has everyone been doing during the downtime?
I've been productive, funnily enough :v:
Been modeling more parts.
So what has everyone been doing during the downtime?
Bought the game and created the Io series of spaceplanes. Hasn't been going well, though - the latest planes have problems getting off the runway without smashing the tail off, and then there's the issue of staying horizontal. Many, many Kerbalnauts have been lost.
Issue to stay horizontal? I always use the trim
Someone mind explaining how to use RCS thrusters?
Someone mind explaining how to use RCS thrusters?
Yep. First thing you need to do is place RCS fuel on it, doesn't matter where and it doesn't need to be connected in any way to the RCS thrusters as long as it's on the ship. Then place RCS thrusters on your ship, placing with 4x symmetry lets the RCS thrusters work in every direction, place them in various locations, experiment, it's KSP afterall. When launched, press R to active RCS. the RCS will automatically help control your ship when pitching, rolling or yawing, and you've got a few more controls as well, which you can use with IKJL H and N IJKL will translate up, down, left and right (move without rotating the ship, as long as the force is somewhat centered on the COG), H and N will move your ship forward or backward.
Well the Bobdog Heavy MKI stratolauncher ran into some weight issues (it kept ripping in two), so I created the MKII with increased struts. Unfortunately, I hit the strut limit and when I spawned it all the struts disappeared and the plane collapsed in on itself. [t]http://www.manhack-arcade.net/Content_Pack/BobdogHeavy2.png[/t] So I scrapped that and designed the Ed Heavy MKI. It works wonderfully, although it pretty much consumes all its fuel to get to 10km with just enough to fly away so it doesn't belly flop on the rocket. Personally I think a piggyback system would be more efficient, but my rockets keep slamming into the tail fins on those planes.
I put my HALO (High Altitude Low Orbit) spaceplane into orbit then landed it on the runway: [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13781308/KSP/screenshot19%20%282%29.png[/t] [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13781308/KSP/screenshot33.png[/t] [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13781308/KSP/screenshot34.png[/t] [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13781308/KSP/screenshot35.png[/t] [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13781308/KSP/screenshot36.png[/t] [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13781308/KSP/screenshot38.png[/t] [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13781308/KSP/screenshot39.png[/t]
Finally bit the bullet and looked into how to make new parts for KSP. For my first model I wanted to do something really simple that I always wished I had when I was making planes, drop tanks. So I modeled these simple drop tanks and an ejector to go with them so that they can be mounted and ejected on pylons proper. Speaking of modeling, I found some time to work on the ULS again. The second stage fuel tank is ingame and the modeling of the engine is nearing completion. [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13781308/KSP/ULS Stage 2 - side.png[/t] [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13781308/KSP/ULS Stage 2.png[/t] I need to figure out how to do fancy renders. Also, do any modders on here know how I could fix my station parts? Some of the modules will snap to place when you go to attach them but they don't attach even though they should. It's really frustrating.
So what has everyone been doing during the downtime?
Stealing models and messing with them in Unity. :v:
Kosmos is really starting to achieve its goals! I'm very pleased with how far it's come.
Can you guys point me towards some good mods? I'm running vanilla right now but it feels so bare, like there should be so much more to the game. I saw some mod with autopilot and stuff built in. What is that all about?

Carboardbox, have you been able to fix your station parts attaching?

Both packs are also done by members on Facepunch, so there's another bonus.
Thanks guys. I'll google the names and see what comes up.
Mechjeb and KW parts, and the cart thing for rovers.
What's this cart thing? I was actually looking for this last night on the KSP forums but I couldn't find it. I want to build little rover thingies.
