..Kerbals are implemented as ship parts?
Can you strap them to a SRB?
They aren't exactly a "part", it's just that the games regards them as so which means persistence with them is possible. If you wanted, you could, for example, crash another spacecraft into them!
However you cannot actually physically place them in the V.A.B, them being a part is just for behind-the-scenes reasons.
Kerbal's definitely need eyebrows.
they look silly. I don't want to compare them to this, but they kinda look like they have a mental disorder expression

It'd be fine is they just added some animation bones there so instead of an actual, textured on eyebrow; that'd change the look of Kerbo dramatically methinks; rather just have the skin there kinda crumple up whenever an exaggerated expression is made.
They remind me of those raven rabbit things to be honest.
they kinda look like they have a mental disorder expression
That's half the fun!
Regarding their faces:
They just have the neutral expression on them. The facial expressions are done separately, and that bit hasn't been added yet. Thanks to Unity's very awesome animation system, adding them is pretty simple. We just overlay the face animation onto everything else.
Cheers
Also, a spoiler, do not click to keep the suprise:

Possibly accidental leak by Nova, docking will be in 0.16[/sp]

Don't get your hopes up.
I wonder what kind of stuff you will be able to do with EVA's in the future. I want to walk around my mun base and look at mun stuff and do mun things
EDIT: Are spoilers really necessary? It's an update not a plot twist

Well, they implied [sp]docking[/sp] has already been partially done for a while, but they needed to finish a few parts of it that might not be done for a while. Harv himself said we might get some parts of it, but it'll probably be [sp]simple things like just being able to latch onto another pod and transfer crew.[/sp]
Do you guys prefer SAS or ASAS?
Rate Agree () for SAS
Rate Disagree () for ASAS
Rated autistic for mechjeb :v:

Mechjeb is an amazing piece of tech, but honestly it makes stuff too easy. I've managed it all; rendezvous (even in munar orbit, and without RCS), landing back on the runway with no thrust after deorbit burn, I've found the arches, made rovers out of stock parts, landed on every body... and if using mechjeb you don't get the same feeling of accomplishment. It just really isn't the same, y'know?

Well, piloting everything yourself is only really fun for the first 1000 times. Honestly as long as you can do the full trip once, you should be allowed to use mechjeb. It isn't cheating if you know you can do it manually. Besides mechjeb facilitates the process so much; taking huge payloads into orbit is no longer incredibly annoying (only mildly :v:).

I only use mechjeb because I'm sick of some of the bullshit that vanilla parts will give me.
Sometimes I'll be flying a rocket, turning into orbit angle then being unable to stop turning and thrusting myself straight back into Kerbin.
making a new mach jeb model >.>

guy says no docking in 0.16... I think it is a pipe dream. if there is not docking I will make docking nodes have an animations that will let them lock....
i still can't properly figure out how to do a rendevouz with mechjeb
only case i could was when i was already close in the first place (with my asteroid) and then i could just use TGT+ to point at it, burn, and then correct on manualguess™ mode
Use TGT+ , then when you get closer use +RelV until you kill all your relative velocity. Rinse and repeat.
I highly suggest the launch to rendezvous option in mechjeb.
Haven't played in like a year. I'm so bad at building rockets. :v:
Well, more progress news now:
I've been tinkering with the part physics and how the Kerbals interact with that, and I think I've been able to simplify the part packing/unpacking system to a point where it is not only more reliable and stable, but also much less laggy on the transitions.
This is a change that's right on par with the same-vessel part collision ignore thing, as far as how deeply-rooted it is, and how fundamental the changes are, so it needs to be under observation here, to make sure it doesn't cause any unwanted side effects.
So far though, it looks good, and some more cheating later, I got a Kerbal on Minmus. Here's me jetpacking around over a frozen methane lake:

This reminds me, I need to get the EVAPack thruster effects in still... Well, one thing at a time.
Cheers
lol, I've been using the TRANS button under orbital operations to do it this whole time :X

is that even possible?

Given Kerbin's distance from the star, only in the shade. But since every part of Minmus sees sunlight except for polar craters it wouldn't be covering it.
My craft keeps flipping over when it's going down the run way. I don't know what to do to fix it.
That's supposed to be frozen methane? I thought it was like, sand or something, needs a reflective material on it. Like the ice in Halo CE or something.

Are you using an ASAS? I find it works wonders when your plane has unstable landing gears.

This and a less grainy texture on it. Maybe a sharper shoreline as well.
huh. so liquid fart is blue... who knew.
I found some craft called Tiny on the forums in a thread about making the smallest craft possible that could go to the mun and back, then land, then go back into 100km orbit, removed the landing gear, added a launching cradle(or else something on the bottom would get destroyed before you'd be able to launch it) and put a laser on its head :v: Works surprisingly well, now I just need to find out how to get close to other crafts more easily without spending like an hour doing the rendezvous manually.
Where do you get the Laser parts?

SAS makes my plane never take off I think. So i'm trying to leave it on during take off and then take it off when I'm actually pulling up. Except my plane might simply be too heavy.
I might either need a shit ton more speed or more wings. Except my whole thing is wings.

SAS just locks rotation, doesn't it? So turn it on after you take off and you should be fine
Turns out I wasn't using control wings...

Also what the fuck, I Ran out of fuel in like 15 seconds, but kept flying around the base for like 5 minutes. With no engines or fuel. Going up and down in the air. I managed to land and take off 3-4 times. Some how pulling up = more speed because when I pulll up to take off my speed goes from like 60m/s to like 110m/s
I think I broke the game.
[editline]15th June 2012[/editline]
going to record it and see if I can do it again.

That's understandable. You'd be really surprised what you can do with gliders if you get them going fast enough first.
Landed an intact lander on the mun for the first time!

And I only knocked 2 landing struts off on contact!
