Holy living fuck guys...
I've finally done it.
[img]http://niggaupload.com/images/vsKyh.jpg[/img]
I've landed on the fucking Mun in 0.16.
After a shit load of wobbly rockets and millions spent in struts I've walked, motherfucking [b]walked[/b], a Kerman on the surface of the fucking Mun.
Holy jesus...
The fucking [b]Mun[/b]...
[QUOTE=Gen. Crumpets;36939947]Am I the only one who keeps the original 3 Kerbals safe on top of the fuel tanker near the Launch Pad?[/QUOTE]
I do that too.
I always fear for them when a launch goes to shit.
To try and advance their orbital technologies, the Kerbals, using their modified Orion Rocket, head for space once again.
Their mission: Maintain a stable orbit around Kerbin.
[img]http://filesmelt.com/dl/screenshot144.png[/img]
They manage to get an orbit going, but as they forget to pack additional fuel tanks, the Periapsis is slowly falling.
[img]http://filesmelt.com/dl/screenshot1013.png[/img]
Despite a slight mission failure, Dungel Kerman steps out to enjoy the views.

Here have some aviators on Jeb.

En route to da mun.

[QUOTE=Gen. Crumpets;36941303]-snip nevermind found what i was looking for-[/QUOTE]
I promise you there will be no satisfaction at all in using someone else's rocket to get there
After many failed attempts at a Rocket able to go to the Mun, I failed to notice that some of the explosions had sent things astray. I had the original three Kerbalnauts standing and watching each launch on the spherical fuel tanker, and we lost two brave Kerbals today.

RIP, Bob and Jeb Kerman.
Is the some mod that allows you to transfer fuel between different crafts?

If this little fucker doesn't get to the moon...
[editline]26th July 2012[/editline]
Also, struts don't work for me, I can't couple between two different parts of the spacecraft.
[editline]26th July 2012[/editline]
It seems most KSP parts are made for tiny little rockets, the RCS's don't provide nearly enough thrust, neither do the SAS's or ASAS's.
I want big meaty parts for real rockets for fucks sake.
Yeah, I think I'll wait for the next update or til all the good mods have fixed themselves.
There's no fun in having to build a wobbly, hundred meter tall rocket just to get to the moon, because all the parts are far, far too weak. And the good, real-strength parts, are all too small because nobodies updated them.
ASAS works fine guys.

I also had some troubhle getting bigger parts to the mun. I solved it more struts.

I can't get struts to connect though, and have to use 15000 strength, massive decouplers because the default ones just snap straight off. :v:
Anyone have any strategy's for saving fuel while ascending? With 2 double fuel tanks ( the new 1.6 ones)
I run out before I even hit 200KM
Boosters.
[QUOTE=mecaguy03;36939674]Lol, are you trying to make the biggest rocket possible? Or is that an actual serious attempt[/QUOTE]
You do not understand the plight of the glorious motherland. Krussian rockets are so robust because they are stronger than the puny rockets of other space program. You clearly do not understand how to design robust rocket.
(If you can't figure it out, I'm just fucking around with making pointlessly huge rockets.)
Damn, it's hard to slow down when coming in to land on the Mun. I just can't cancel out sideways movement.
It would also be easier if the altitude counter wasn't based on sea level, for the moons at least. They have pretty mountainous terrain.
Point toward the yellow circle with the x and burn.
You will hit 0 m/s and then you'll start falling.
Sideways movement gone.
I love the habitat module. It's like a tiny appartment

After many failed rocket attempts, and the death of many Kerbals, a vessel hopefully capable of flying to the Mun is stable and complete!
It is named the 'Mun Station Alpha', and is piloted by the fearless Geofrey Kerman.
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/screenshot201.png[/img_thumb]
Liftoff is successful, and the rocket appears stable.
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/screenshot161.png[/img_thumb]
Separation of the second stage is confirmed, and the rocket is beginning to exit the atmosphere.
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/screenshot219.png[/img_thumb]
A stable orbit is established at just over 120,000m.
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/screenshot221.png[/img_thumb]
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/screenshot231.png[/img_thumb]
Days pass as the orbit is adjusted to Mun approach. It's size can be quite daunting.
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/screenshot242.png[/img_thumb]
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/screenshot251.png[/img_thumb]
There was some unaccounted-for sideways movement upon landing, and the landing module broke apart from the command pod. Thankfully, both are intact.
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/screenshot272.png[/img_thumb]
Without a powered ship to get him back to Kerbin, Geofrey is stranded on the Mun! His friends and co-workers back home need to get work on a rescue ship - and fast!
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/screenshot282.png[/img_thumb]
Your puny ship fell apart because it was not robust enough.

What mod is that from?

At bottom of OP, it's one single part.
[QUOTE=blazingfly;36943861]I can't get struts to connect though, and have to use 15000 strength, massive decouplers because the default ones just snap straight off. :v:[/QUOTE]
How can't you get them to connect? It seems totally straight-forward to me. Just click on the first part, then the second. I've even been duct-taping stacked tanks together recently just in case things get wobbly.
I made another rocket so Geofrey would have a friend on the Mun, but I didn't expect Jeb to come back from the dead and be my pilot! I managed to get Jeb to Geofrey's landing spot with a Habitat module attached, so they can set up a small base of operations.

Wasn't there a mod a few pages ago that added an empty module or something? If so, can anyone provide a download link?
all the links for the good space parts are MIA. I just want more parts :(
Is it too much to ask if some kind facepuncher could .rar their parts folder for me? I'd be forever grateful.

How can you get your Kerbals to leave the craft and walk about?
