How can you get your Kerbals to leave the craft and walk about?
In .16 you either click on the pod's hatch or move your mouse over each passenger's portrait.
Holy shit the X-wing can actually make it into orbit

Let's see if I can get this space apartment to mun. It can hold 39 Kerbals.

"Honey, why the fuck did you rent us an apartment on the Mun?!"
Alright, shit doesn't work at all. Back to the drawing board.
The funny thing about 0.16 is that a huge rocket wont get you to the mun very easily. I have a medium sized 3 stage rocket that gets me all the way to the mun and back.

Everything feels heavier in 0.16 :v:
I usually like to put 15-20 seconds between staging to make use of the momentum. I figured I'd write some of the launch parameters down in a table and find out what the most efficient staging and burns are.

using the new unmanned command module pack I got a rover to my kerbonauts. it works quite well actually. I hope they add some sort of folding rover as somebody mentioned before.

If I send a satellite into orbit around Kearth, will it orbit indefinitely? Because I really want to send a few satellites up into space to orbit Kearth, just for the novelty, but I worry that they'll come crashing down after a while.

As long as the periapsis is above ~69 200m, yes they will.
Also.
Kerbin, not Kearth.

Oh shit you mean if it is below that, the orbit will decay? Well damn looks like most of my orbiting satellites are doomed.

It could take awhile but once it detects a collision course it just removes it. If it still has fuel and you can get to it from the space center you can raise the orbits
Building a retrieval boat is a lot more difficult than I imagined.
Bill is bingo on fuel and stranded on the Mun.
Edit:
These larger parts are actually difficult to use, and my staging in the VAB keeps fucking up, too.
Jesus christ, I detach the 7 or 8 side assist boosters, and one decides to go HUEHUEHUEHUEHUE and detach moving forward, almost hitting on the crucial landing engines. Course Jebediah is piloting it sooo...
Edit: Basically, the first stage got me to a good orbit, and I just had to burn the second stage for 10 seconds to normalize it to something resembling a circle and now, I wait for the moon to touch the horizon cause I fire in a different direction to get to the moon.
EDIT: STREAMING MY FIRST MOONWALK FUCK YEAH! nvm too much frame loss don't want jeb to ram into a fuel take causing it to rupture.
So I tried to land on Minmus to do some "EVA Suit Durability Tests" (See previous post), and ended up tipping over.
Now to do my first rescue mission :v:

Link's broken.
Everything feels heavier in 0.16 :v:
The fuel to weight ratio has been changed up which is why everything is a touch harder in 0.16.

Time to head home, mission accomplished. Next step is to send a rover there to take samples and then I have to fly a rocket there to get the so called samples.
Jeb with aviators is just... yes.
Want
Hopefully they'll release that eventually
My first rescue mission was a success!

The rover, along with the crashed remains of a supposed Munar research base that we were testing arrived to the science team.
One of the Kosmonauts was killed during the landing attempt of the research base, so we are again down to three.
Note to engineering team: add more robust lander legs... and more fuel to large payloads.
Guys, I can't seem to get this satellite into orbit. All it does is fall to the right and crash into the ground. I've tried everything, adding more Advanced SAS modules, strutting the parts of the satellite "arms" to the center piece to hold it together, I can't get it to stop crashing sideways. What am I meant to do?
Am I supposed to send each satellite piece up one by one and then berth them together in space or what? Because sending one whole satellite just crashes because it leans heavily to one side (even though I've balanced my satellite on both sides!)

Add more rockets.
You may think this is a joke answer, but it's not.
You genuinely need more rockets.

More rockets.
Been some time since I've played this (March)
What's changed since then? Do the forums still suck?
