I would love if KSP implemented multiplayer. Designing a 2-man spacecraft that requires both of you to get it to work, that would be bloody amazing. One guy doing Navigation / Orbital Calculations and another at the Bridge, controlling the ships movement and Landing Gear. It'd be amazing. I can just imagine a mission to restock a space station. As you get near, your partner hops in the shuttle and jettisons off into space to dock with the space station, whilst you keep the ship orbiting the station for his return. A man can dream!
oh god, a mode where one person only gets 3d view and controls, the other only gets the map view :v:
Haha, that would be torture for the navigator. "Hey, plot a course around that awesome-looking asteroid so I can shoot around it and do backflips and shit" "...ok" "Thanks" "...yeah" "How long till we're there?" "Fuck you. We're not going." That's how most scenarios would play out I think haha
Is there a key to deploy ladders or do I just have to click on them?
Right click them. Extend!
KSP has really made me want to pick up modelling again, but alas. I am too lazy and in 3 weeks I won't have enough time to do it.
I figured since I knew the basics of blender, I could maybe do some stuff. Texturing has taken most of my time so far.
I've officially given up. Even using MechJeb, all my rockets can't make it into even a Kerbin orbit (so don't even mention getting to the Mun, cause that's not even within my grasp). I've tried everything: huge rockets, big rockets, medium rockets, small rockets. The closest I've come is by using a big rocket that gets to 80km above Kerbin and then proceeds to attempt a circular orbit, but I always run out of damn fuel before my orbit is circular. If I go to the vehicle management to add more fuel, it just starts a whole cycle of "Oh, space ship is heavier, so add more thrusters. Oh, more thrusters, less fuel? Add more fuel. Oh, heavier?" etc. So what am I supposed to do? I'm done with the frustration of spending 2 hours building a ship, testing it time after time, launching it and launching it and modifying it and modifying it only to have a piece of junk in the end that can't even attain Kerbin orbit. I don't even know why. MechJeb should be helping me attain orbit but it just seems no matter what I try, it doesn't work out.
Top to bottom: Capsule, fuel tank, big engine, decoupler, tank, tank, big engine. Got that to a 200km x 200km equatorial on my second try. 100x100 should be easy.
That ship worked a treat, all I had to change was the inner-circle four engines, to the non-vectoring more powerful ones. If I didn't change them, the thing would start to fall once the outer engines ran out of fuel. It got me into a circular orbit! So happy. Gonna use this as my ship that gets satellites into orbit, thanks so much man. PS: I was building my ships like that, but I wasn't doing it as neatly. I'd end up with imbalanced ships that would wobble the more power I added.
No problem man!
Draugur, thanks for posting your Krussian space craft. I haven't downloaded it as I have a piece of shit computer that lags to shit with even a few rockets, and as you said it lags badly, I figured I'd be better off not stalling my PC for like 30 minutes haha Thanks though, I appreciate it. [editline]28th July 2012[/editline] Is it possible to make Mun bases? I want to ship over a little structure that my Kerbals can sleep and research in. Is that achievable or is it too much of a mammoth task?

[editline]27th July 2012[/editline] And not sure why it doesn't work for you, but I can get the smelly onion orbiting with vectoring engines
Every time I try to buy this game, the store appears to be broken. Then I remembered I use RefControl. Ugh.

These 2 meter decouplers are made of glass. I made a tank.
I made a tank.
Do the guns elevate?
Do the guns elevate?
Yea sort of, though not like a traditional tank. The entire turret assembly elevates, because there really isnt room inside a reasonably sized turret for an assembly that allows just the guns to elevate. Plus the truss parts to support the guns wouldn't be straight, and the guns would elevate off center.
Help I made a massive ship that's just supposed to look cool [sub][sup](the Event Horizon)[/sup][/sub], and I want to put it into an orbit around Kerbin, but no matter what I do, it tips over right after launch because it has no aerodynamic properties whatsoever (sideways wings used as decoration, etc.). I've tried using the Instant Orbit thing but it appears to be broken Any advice?

Also, it appears you need to re-design your whole ship, because if it's too heavy and big, it'll never reach orbit in the design you intended it to reach orbit in (the looking cool design).

But if you mean it launches and then uncontrollably tips on its side mid-flight then you may need to add more control surfaces and/or RCS and an ASAS.

(I honestly had not bothered that yet in .16 to try it)

I really need to buy this but I don't have any paypal/credit card money aaa.
I just built a clusterfuck of a ship and it exploded on the launch pad.
Hi, I'm back. Anyone tell me what new stuff has happened? I read this page and saw mention of Krussian stuff. What version of KSP are we on now?
Hi, I'm back. Anyone tell me what new stuff has happened? I read this page and saw mention of Krussian stuff. What version of KSP are we on now?
.16. This version added EVAs, support trusses, parts for vanilla 2m rockets and maybe something else I forgot. Next version will probably add IVAs and docking.
Ah no! I had a satellite in orbit with a seperate pod on it that I had shifted a kerbal into. But it wouldn't let me go from the space center into that pod (game would just crash). So I decided to try getting a second ship up there and do a transfer to get my man back. My orbits were wonky and I got to within 50km, so I thought I could EVA it. Nope. Got a few KM away from my rescue craft and decided I should turn back. Was a real mission getting back to the rescue craft, and I was very concious of fuel. I ran out literally one foot from the hatch. Rest in peace, Mister Kerbal

Anyone else have specific music they like to listen to while in orbit? Mine is this one:
Can anyone guide me to tutorials for making parachutes and airlocks?
well, I got to the moon, kinda. Realized the landing wheels were too high, too late. The engine hit the ground and made the lander flip over and the engine got ripped off, still running. Time for a resque mission
Resque mission underway! Boosters and first stage jettisoned, second stage doing the escape burn. Skipping forward in time a little, the craft has landed. Unfortunately, 4.7km from the stranded craft Tommund Kerman of the stranded Tutukuuri VII, using his thrusters, is going towards the VII-RescueVessel at high speeds. Dangerous? Yeah. Fast? Hell yeah Fuel runs out at 1km and he has to walk the rest He reaches the resque vessel and boards it. Craft away! Couldn't be arsed to bring the rest, flying/walking 4.7km takes quite a while. So Tommund Kerman is the only one to be resqued this time. But then shit goes wrong. The fuel wasn't nearly enough to get back to Kerbin, let alone even orbit the Mun. It runs out soon after and the resque vessel is on crash-course to the surface of the Mun. I try to resque atleast one of them. EVA him and try to slow down using his jetpack, but it's not nearly powerful enough and he crashes into a hill (with the craft visible in the upper corner, impacting the ground a few dozen kilometers away a couple of minutes later) Note to self, add more fuel. Two more Kerbals await resque! May the next craft work better.
