It would be awesome if it came in a single 'slice' that could expand into a complete umbrella shape in place of an umbrella.
I really want some sort of reentry drag physics. I had to deorbit an outdated space station with lots of parts that stick out, and wished I could have watched it break up as it entered the atmosphere.

Dreaming too far ahead, I just wan't a flame effect for re-entry. It doesn't have to be at all related to physical drag but as long as my command modules are on fire as they come in I'd be happy

The drag model is total shit.
It should have less drag with pointy ends (it's way too much now) and more drag when your angle of attack is higher, or when you are flying with a blunt end forward.
Basically anything except a pointy end needs a little boost, especially at higher speeds.
i wouldn't say it's shit it's just very... rudimentary
Just sent the first cargo ship up to my orbiting spacedock/spacestation. It consisted of various fuel tanks, an engine, lots of RCS tanks, and lots of RCS thrusters. Im going to just make a teeny tiny module that will float around the station first
Oicani, as far as resource management goes, I think it should be handled through third parties somewhat. You're a space program, not a mining corporation. Parts would still have resources used to make them, but their availability would just affect how expensive they are for you to buy.
For space mining you could take missions from these same mining corps. They would give you a pre-packaged mining outpost that can fit in the larger payload bay (yes we would need payload bays of varying sizes) and if you can successfully deposit that on the mun/minmus/whatever, then every time you make a return trip from there you get a spiffy discount on parts made from the resources found there. Said discount decays over time to encourage you to return.

This, but still have access to mining parts so eventually you don't have to fully rely on other corporations for continued operation.

I wouldn't say it's shit, it's just a bit... alpha stage
I do forget sometimes that it's still so early in development.

there should be contract work, for example:
- "KASA's recent budget cuts have forced them to outsource routine service missions to the ISS." which makes you set up a route every x amount of time, giving you $y for every successful mission
- you get contacted by a space exploration company to design a rocket that can carry a 2t payload to the mun. you have to build a rocket and successfully fly it to the mun, allowing you to 'sell' the design
Sometimes I just have to stop and think: KSP is already one of the best indie games I've played and they're still working really hard on it.
I don't need porn any more, I just go to this page http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/~kerbalsp/wiki/index.php?title=Planned_features
I've been waiting for this game since I was old enough to know what a rocket and a computer was.

Imagine computer controlled and/or pre-placed spaceships that you have to do shit with.
If KSP ever gets anything like a scenario mode, there needs to be some sort of nukesat standoff scenario where you have to EVA to another AI satellite without being seen or something.
Oh god, I just imagined what a Kerbal SWAT team would consist of.

good grief the wiki is out of date :v:

Because that is the old Wiki.
Same page on the new Wiki: http://kspwiki.nexisonline.net/wiki/Planned_features
I didn't even notice that. I just quickly googled ksp, clicked the sub-link for the wiki and it sent me to the old one, I suppose google must have cached it. Googling "ksp wiki" brings up the old one as the top result and the new one much lower down.
Obviously, the link on the website takes you to the new one.

mind blown
Big crater.
Seems closer to the sun.

Also, that's no moon.

Oh god, imagine a planet with lava lakes close to the sun, and landing in said lava will kill you :v:

I hope we'll get a better sun too.
A proper 3D sun.
I was just looking at that list of planned features again.
What the hell are solid-booster fuel plugs?
finally got my station in orbit

Philgel looking at the somehow missing engine, atleast the station was able to fly straight due to the RCS everywhere.

it's supposed to be some kinds of space radio station or whatever. That's why I asked for that giant radar dish. I made one which looked neat out stock parts, but also helped making it do loops during launch :v:

Little corks that you can put into the end of SRBs to cut them off early.
:v:
Seriously, what mods are you guys using for the space stations and the habitats and all those doodads?

They're supposed to be plugs that get put in the end of the nozzle to make the SRB stop burning, which is totally ridiculous. Both the fuel and oxidizer are mixed together in the fuel grain and plugging the nozzle (if it was possible without added tons of weight) would cause a pressure buildup that would cause the booster to rupture in milliseconds. The idea I think came from booster plugs used for the space shuttle's SRBs but those plugs were to stop water from flooding it and making it sink, not shut off the booster.

Wait, so I was right?
Zing!
They might be only partially-plugged, so instead of stopping it up like a pipe bomb it just diverts the exhaust to the sides to curtail thrust.
Though that would probably cause some extreme overheating issues on top of the weight as tradeoffs.

I love this rocket. Gets to orbit with so much fuel remaining. I could probably make this do multiple trips to the moon and back.
