Was distracted by something else when in warp, somehow managed to slingshot my craft around the Mun and ended up orbiting the solar system :/
For some reason, parts on my hinge robotic parts do very weird, contracting all at once, like a jellyfish. Is there a way to fix this?
Oh hell yes new planets, can't wait for 0.17.
Rendevouz! At an amzing 5 to 9 FPS!
You should combine them while moving at a high speed.
I actually want to do that, I want to see how it explodes, and it'll form a great objective for a mission.
someone needs to make the spaceship from avatar
A little too red but whatever, it's another planet.
It's funny because the surface of Mars isn't really very red at all.
I lied, here's one more of me landed on a precariously steep slope (I almost fell over): [t]http://i.imgur.com/XdqSp.jpg[/t]
I see a new part, where the landing gear is attached to!
http://www.youtube.com/user/thewinterowl?feature=results_main This guy is amazing. Airplanes are the shit.

Wow, that looks amazing. This update is going to be awesome.
Does it's atmosphere look weird to anyone else? Thick on the edges and then non-existent in the middle? Or maybe it's just nighttime.
Good for us that they chose Nova for the new planets, because he has a tendency to post pictures and leak info a lot more often than the others. (At least that's what I've noticed)
Does it's atmosphere look weird to anyone else? Thick on the edges and then non-existent in the middle? Or maybe it's just nighttime.
The camera is seeing upwards more, seeing through less atmosphere, therefore less red.
Does it's atmosphere look weird to anyone else? Thick on the edges and then non-existent in the middle? Or maybe it's just nighttime.
TBH, the atmosphere rendering on Kerbin could do with a little fixing as well. During day it's white near the surface.
TBH, the atmosphere rendering on Kerbin could do with a little fixing as well. During day it's white near the surface.
Isn't that one of the fixes?

It looks a little too red.
I'm still in the polishing phase, right now, so it will probably change.
I just hope they add clouds soon, kerbin looks very dull without it. The new planet is awesome though. Money well spent.
The introduction of a new planet will bring more to the game other than it just being a new place to land on. Aerobreaking will be possible, completely different landing crafts with parachutes only might also be much more common. But what we really need is docking; it's not easy to construct a ship that would, for example, land on this new planet, ascend and return to Kerbin due to the huge fuel needs. So having a ship in orbit to return your lander to and then return using its fuel would be good (but I guess you can already EVA the crew into the other ship using the rendezvous function in mechjeb to simulate this). This will be completely different than landing on the current moons, so I can't wait for 0.17!
I wonder what will happen of you fly into one of the gas giant's atmosphere. Would the ship explode from being crushed or just fall forever?
I wonder what will happen of you fly into one of the gas giant's atmosphere. Would the ship explode from being crushed or just fall forever?
Neither. They'd need to add IMplosion. Crumpled models for every part :v:
Neither. They'd need to add IMplosion. Crumpled models for every part :v:
It could probably be dynamically done
Neither. They'd need to add IMplosion. Crumpled models for every part :v:
The ship would actually probably cease to exist shortly after entering the atmosphere.
So any word on how many new planets and moon are beeing added? So far I've seen 2 planets, and a moon around the red planet.
oh wow mechjeb is gonna need some tweaks for intraplanetary operations
So any word on how many new planets and moon are beeing added? So far I've seen 2 planets, and a moon around the red planet.
four terrestrial planets, asteroid belt, 4 gas giants + moons?
oh wow mechjeb is gonna need some tweaks for intraplanetary operations
Navigation in general. Interplanetary transfer windows are hella less forgiving than going to a moon.
Whatever happened to that whole reentry heat thing that was being worked on? Was that Nova who was working on it?
