Nope. From what I remember from the stream, they said it actually had over 50% of fuel left. (Don't want any interplanetary range anxiety)
I thought the number was 140 out of 400 or something like that
I thought the number was 140 out of 400 or something like that
That might also be it. They did have loads to spare anyways :v: [editline]7th August 2012[/editline]
Has anyone else noticed that KSPs automatic decide-which-stage-this-part-goes in has gotten really awful?
Not really. Edit: Mostly because it's always been bad. Pretty sure we will see an update to that within a short amount of time.
Don't look now but, In the bottom right corner there is... A FUCKING SKULL! OMG! RUN!
i am 2spooked
So here's this payload... ...and here's whats inside it. Now to get it to the mun, somehow.
What parts of those outside of it?
How do you switch focus back to spaceships? Accidentally clicked on the Mun and had map focus switch to it, but clicking on the spaceship doesn't, for some reason, focus back on it.
i am 2spooked
What's more scary is that the sky crane wreakage looks lke a big black arrow pointing at it.

after leaving my game on for two days straight, my hopes that my largely overshot orbit would come back into a collision course with Kerbin have been dashes. i'm doomed to orbit meaninglessly around the sun
There seems to be NO aerobreaking in this game whatsoever. Periapsis dropped to 30km with RCS alone coming back from the moon, and I pass through the atmosphere like it's not even there. [editline]7th August 2012[/editline] Actually, ignore that, seems to have been an effect of the time acceleration. [editline]7th August 2012[/editline] Aerobraking like a boss.

It starts at 69km btw, but you're not gonna notice much until about 30-40km.
There seems to be NO aerobreaking in this game whatsoever.
I feel like there is nothing until about 25KM and then it's like hitting chicken soup. Which is what my Kerbals are after the 8 second ride at 15+ Gs.

That's no moon... That's a space station. No seriously, that looks like the Death Star taking aim at Alderaan. EDIT: Can't see it in the little image but scroll up and tell me that Grand Moff Tarkin isn't bitch slapping Leia right now.
I finally took the 6m rocket to the moon, and turns out I didn't spend enough time testing the components before sending them up. The legs and ladder on the lander are too short, and the CM lacks re-entry capability as seen in my futile efforts. I did however descend to the surface and then catch back up to the command module for rendezvous which at least proves it works. Everything I have landed on the moon is now inside the moon, seemingly bouncing off the center. What.
So I have a rocket that can get to the moon and back, how the fuck do I land
What mods do people recommend?
So I have a rocket that can get to the moon and back, how the fuck do I land
I will try to help, and not be too much of a smart ass... 1) If you are keen on how to set up an orbit, I suggest one at about 20-30K to start your decent from. You can start much lower once you get the hang of it but if you're doing it manually, you'll need space to correct for error. 2) Pick a landing spot that is under your orbit (It should be a near circle now, or once you get the hang of it, anything you like.) A crater is often flat. But the wide open areas are flat as well. (Oddly enough Minimus is much easier to land on than the moon. Less gravity and mirror flat areas to land on.) once you have the spot, burn retrograde until the blue orbit line slopes down to your target area. 3) If you don't have an ASAS or RCS thrusters it's going to be tricky to manuver and kill your horizontal speed. Not impossible, but tricky. Several dead kerbals tricky. 4) Make sure that your wife isn't going to suddenly ask you a question about her bra and if she should wear a different one to the baby shower. Boobies and Math do not mix well. 5) When you have killed most of your speed, to say 90 m/s adjust your throttle so that you are not speeding up, or slowing down. Keep that 90 m/s until about 10k. Then gently add thrust so that the m/s is ticking down in a steady fashion. 6) When you are at around 5k you want your ship pointing straight up. If your retrograde ring (Green circle with an x) isn't also up you are moving sideways. Use RCS to bring that ring to the top. (I J K L keys) Keep the SAS on to hold her steady as you manuver. 7) Ideally, you want to touch down at less than 2 m/s. the H key will burn RCS in the same direction as your main thruster and slow you down more. In the last 100m I try to set my throttle so that I'm falling just a wee bit and use my RCS to slow down and land. The N key will burn RCS in the reverse direction of your main thruster, it's handy sometimes. 8)when you touch down, shut it all off and let gravity do the rest.

This has the handy benefit of usually automatically reducing horizontal movement to less than 1m/s and gives you a nice slow descent. You'll need to adjust it at the very end though, when the retrograde icon is very near the top of the globe, turn off mechjeb and set ASAS to hold you pointed straight up, and kill the last bits of horizontal movement with the I,J,K, and L keys which control translation of the spacecraft. And remember to keep an eye on vertical velocity and to deploy your landing gear.
I made something for a mod I'm working on. [t]http://puu.sh/PCLE[/t]
I made something for a mod I'm working on. [t]http://puu.sh/PCLE[/t]
AKA Already lost to Spacex.
So I'm trying out Mechjeb, why won't my pod decoupler let a fuel tank be attached to it? What am I doing wrong?
THE MOON IS HOLLOW AND IT ATE MY SHIPS
Is the interior view enabled in 0.16? What's the key?
There is a ship orbiting inside the mun As soon as I switched to it it blew up
Is the interior view enabled in 0.16? What's the key?
EVAs were a feature in .16, not IVAs
Well, after hours and hours of work, my heavy lift vehicle finally got my payload (around 120 mass) into orbit. Looks like I'm free to put up whatever the hell I want, now. I suppose it's time for mods, now?
What's up with this bullshit where my ships just explode when they hit a certain altitude. It's like as soon as they leave the atmosphere, everything just explodes.
Goddammit. [T]http://puu.sh/PFn7[/T]
