I think the dude means, run the physics simulation at 1/2 speed so you can watch things happen slower, but still at the same FPS.
That's exactly what I meant. And since my framerate is obviously capped by the CPU on a large ship, the only reasonable way to reduce load is to reduce simulation speed. It would also be useful for landings. I'd be fine if the game dynamically adjusted the simulation speed based on load instead. Someone should really say something on the KSP forums. Adding it would be the matter of a few minutes, if PhysX supports that kind of adjustment. And it doesn't adjust rendering speed at all, Zakhodit. I'll just assume you're misinformed.
rule 1 of unity never say a few minutes
And never assume a minor change is easy to implement. I asked about particles and velocity inheritence, turns out the entire way they utilise the particle system would have to be redesigned. Yay for floating point inaccuracies.

I'm sure that doesn't have to hold true for unity, though.
You guys are lucky. My PC since I was a kid has always been like a generation behind, so I played most of my games on 20 fps. If I was lucky I could get 30 fps when I looked towards a wall.
Mine was always two generations or more behind, and still are.
Can you guys just stop, please.
but muuuuuuuuum he started it! [editline]9th August 2012[/editline] heres a moonbase
I manage to fly all the way to MinMus(with fine adjustments made by my good friend MechJeb), EVA one of my guys, and slammed him into the side of the mountain. It was a one man pod :( AHAHAHAHAHAHHA WHO AM I KIDDING It was fucking hilarious. Just *poof* and no more kerbalnaut
As it turns out, my "Tried and true? Well then, let's try something else" method of designing rockets leads to interesting things. [img_thumb]http://ace.haxalot.com/pictures/random/zscreen/Screenshot-2012-08-09_16.25.35.jpg[/img_thumb] Annoyingly enough the rocket is too exact so when using MechJeb to land at my moonbase this happened: [img_thumb]http://ace.haxalot.com/pictures/random/zscreen/Screenshot-2012-08-09_16.24.56.png[/img_thumb] I'll need to start randomizing landing positions from now on...

I cant get 3 man capsule to orbit and you guys land on minmus how in hell :v:
[t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13796438/images/4576.jpg[/t] Aw yeah (I know that rover on the right has a bunch of useless stuff on it, but so what, it looks cool :v:)
I cant get 3 man capsule to orbit and you guys land on minmus how in hell :v:
Many land, few return... Malfunction at 500M. Jim Kerman bailed out and used his EVA pack to land. That is the only bit of his ship that didn't explode when it landed.

[editline]9th August 2012[/editline] as in offset a few seconds in the mechjeb lander after you target no more smushed landers
A small vid I took of what I do when I'm bored. Nothing like firing up KSP and land Jeb on the moon.
You know what would be awesome? Sea exploration. For watery planets and deep-sea bases on Kerbin.
Looks pretty awesome acually The same guy has Solar panels, batteries and ion engine made

Ended up making one with insane range and only 2 stages. It's currently in a nearly perfect circular orbit around the Mun and I'm going to try landing it later.

So in order to make KSP run faster, I installed it on a RAMDisk. I had the entire game there, including like 600mb of addons. And my persistence file... but when I shut down I forgot to save it so now my entire save is gone. And the backup I do have is from yesterday morning. Woops
A bit late on the subject but I think the theme music for KSP needs to be something like this: The name of the song is "Exploration B" by Terry Devine-King

So I'm making an atmospheric video of a launch (like this). Apparently it's a lot harder than it looks. So far I did 8 launches, each at different timescales.
Wait what mohawk guy has a twitter?! http://twitter.com/tweetsoutloud

However Erbles survived! And luckily crashed very near a research/rescue craft! A long walk begins.
You will die from EVA pack fun. Don't hit shift and hold w with EVA pack on.
You will die from EVA pack fun. Don't hit shift and hold w with EVA pack on.
yeah, bad idea. I rammed myself into a mountain with EVA pack
Hurtling along the surface of the mun in a rover at 100m/s is very fun. Doing backflips, barrel rolls and not giving a fuck
