Well this is awkward.
I just sent Bob into EVA but my Shift key's being a dick and he was propelled away from the station and put into collision trajectory with Kerbin
Now there's only Samford and Henry in the station :(

finally, a nearly perfect mission, I left a crew-member inside the CM, landed on the moon, got back to orbit, transferred crews from the lander to the CM, and went home. It's very difficult to pilot without functioning SAS, but returning home is just a matter of burning retrograde once you escape the moon. I still need to work on reentry trajectories, they pulled nearly 7gs when the first two parachutes deployed at 20-25km. What's the best way to slow it down before getting to 20k? I don't think I can use RCS with remote vehicles, and staging is not possible. the parachutes are automatically deployed at 20km and 10km respectively.
You guys know of Kurt's livestream right? He has the KSP devs on!

So uh, does anyone else put parachutes on the stages that get dumped in the atmosphere?

(snipped)
I used to but they are removed within minutes so I'm not sure how useful it is.
It's a game about launching little screaming green men into space, on rockets put together with duct tape and superglue, and you're having problems with stuff being the wrong color....
I hate the people like you who think this game should be a kindergarten arcade game based off the descriptions of the parts from the earliest releases of the game.
The game never was and never will be about jalopy rockets.
Rockets will explode, yes, but thats all due to crazy designs and trial and error not because the game is trying to be retarded.
so i tried docking with a space station i put up. i got within 400m of it and then gave up (ran out of rcs fuel). how the fuck do you people do it.

We make very good friends with F5 and F9
Hmm, so apparently my spacedock has enough thrust to land on Minmus. That's without its main engine (only the 4 ion engines left), which decided it would be funny if it overheated and exploded...
Noticed this while landing. Minmus, Kerbin and the Mun all lined up, thought it looked neat.

And here we are; visiting this group of kerbals that accidentally ended up on Minmus while trying to land on the Mun...

Didn't manage to land as close as I wanted to, but I only had a few seconds of power left on one of the batteries, and since they are basically fuel tanks pretending to be batteries, they will "burn out" if you use all the power, and you can't recharge them anymore; so I had to land real quick while I wait for the sun to come up.

is that what I think it is? I could have saved so much time :suicide:

If you're thinking "Quicksave and quickload, respectively," then yes. :v:
We make very good friends with F5 and F9
EDIT: My God, I have never thought of that.
(Suddenly I think of my Kerbals stuck in a Star Trek episode where time loops over and over until they get it right...)
Which mods are really worth them to install?

place your ship into an orbit 2-3km below your target and wait until they are almost next to each other. then, burn as close as you can to it and circularize your orbit at the same orbital height as the target. Then all you have to do is a burn or two to get close to it. the key is to stay within 500m or so of the target so your orbits stay synchronized.
you could also do the math and find out exactly when to burn, but that's not fun.
it would be easier if they would add orbiter-style docking tools.
They kept going back to KSP being on steam. They would not confirm it and kept quickly changing the subject when it was brought up.

They did confirm it early on, but they said they didn't know much/weren't allowed to talk about it.

yeah, thats pretty much SOP for steam
if it doesn't have a page yet, they aren't allowed to say anything
Ah.... I'm going to love having an actual sun to smash things into.
How is the gravity on minimus compared to, say, the mun?

the wiki says "0.080 g". It's an asteroid (or at least a very small body) after all.
Holy solar panels batman!

It sucks. It's VERY low, making it tough to land on without flying away or just floating in place above the surface.
