So how bout them thread deletions Edit: Also lockings.
Anyone wish to add anything before I post? Title: Mod Abuse: A Commentary
I'm not going to go as far as other users have gone. However, the fact that certain mods cannot handle strongly worded constructive critism in response to bad choices, and instead of remarking on the critism and attempting to change, instead harddel's the thread, goes to show that some mods don't really know what being a mod is. Mods should never have moderator actions based on personal feelings. That is a conflict of interest between the forum's best interest, which mods are supposed to uphold, and instead being a personal vendetta. When mods signed up for this job, they knew they weren't going to be liked by everyone, and it seems like some of you are starting to forget that. When the line between personal vendetta and upholding forum interest begins to blur, the authority should no longer be held.
A moderator, any man in authority must tolerate criticism. If a man can not tolerate it, then you power is not something said man should have. Simple as that.
Signed, N10do64 cpt. armadillo Neo Kabuto helpiminabox LarparNar jordguitar brainmaster Thunderbolt wootmonster

Then dont go that fast. The system isnt that large so what are a few extra seconds going to do.
Sucks though when you hit right caret one too many times, though.
Anyone wish to add anything before I post? Title: Mod Abuse: A Commentary
I like how they deleted my thread which broke no rules.
Put me on the list too Paul-Simon on those forums
Anyone wish to add anything before I post? Title: Mod Abuse: A Commentary
I am Tormady, but I suppose you can do Tormady/Brainmaster
fixed, added, fixed
Criticism is one thing, disrespecting our staff is something else. Damion DID give you an explanation that it was Squad's wishes but that's not enough for you. Keep it up guys and you will all end up earning bans. What you are doing is EXPLICITLY against the forum rules.
I'm somewhat curious to see if we're just handing them a list of people to ban at this point.
add :P next to my name

I wanted a answer on why posts were being edited for no reason besides that licence being "garbage". Do not delete a thread simply because it has criticism about people on the mod team. My thread was a legitimate concern and instead it was deleted.
We will NOT tolerate the disrespect of our forum moderators. Damion is following the wishes of Squad and you are blaming the WRONG person. Take this up directly with Squad. Armadillo has earned a ban per the forum rules. Anyone else up for a ban? I've got all day.
Wow I wish I moderated a forum where the users showed respect to the mods. [editline]13th August 2012[/editline] ;)
I'm somewhat curious to see if we're just handing them a list of people to ban at this point.
I don't post. Banning me would prove his/their incompetence.

I removed as many insults as I could without ruining the message.

To a place like Facepunch. That isn't the way the internet works, sure you may ban us, that doesn't mean you have stopped a valid argument. It shows that your community's administration is not mature enough to handle criticism or input from other members based on your administrator's actions.
Wow I wish I moderated a forum where the users showed respect to the mods. [editline]13th August 2012[/editline] ;)
Like the ksp forums? ;)
Funny thing is, Swebonny, a moderator, a damn good one at that, never once has deleted a thread because it insults him
I feel like I need to say something, myself, DamionRayne, and the rest are volunteers, we do not make the rules, we are given the rules by Squad who is sometimes given the rules by their parent company. We as volunteers have decided to give our time freely to help keep the Forums running, without a Moderation team the Forums would be closed. Sometimes when things are going wrong we need time to breath, so we quarantine posts and consult the rules we have been given, this can look bad to some people. Sometimes we make snap decisions, but it is always towards one goal, keeping these Forums open and safe for all members. When the rules are broken, we have to act, we are human, we do the best we can, and we all have your interests at heart. Thank you.
Reading sal_vager's response makes them all sound pretty good. http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/16944-In-Support-of-the-Moderators

I can't see all the excitement :saddowns:
I can't see all the excitement :saddowns:

There have been some complaints about the moderation staff being overly "dictatorial" in the fulfillment of their duties, and I would like to express my support for their conduct, and to explain why. First and foremost, they are here to keep the peace. They are moderators; that is their job. You may notice my phrasing above: "fulfillment of duties". They have been selected for their roles, and if they were deemed unsuitable, they would no longer have these roles. That said, there are people above them, who ultimately hand down major decisions; one example is the mandatory posting of sourcecode for plugins. Each of these decisions is made for a good reason, and if you don't like that, the developers do not need you on their forums, which these most certainly are. In spite of the minority opinion, I have not yet seen a moderator action that I found unreasonable, and I am sure that if one of the moderators did something which truly was, appealing for a review by a superior would be a far better decision than complaining about it to the world. There's no call for that. In short: Cool off, people. They're doing their jobs as well as they can.
That's the OP, the reply was a few posts up.
I can't see all the excitement :saddowns:
delete cookies make new account come on man it is basically the same thing you would have to do here.
i dont even know if you need to make a new account to see that stuff anyways
You don't. I can see it, and I don't feel like logging in again now.

Has the entire forum gone moderated? Or atleast that thread? I can't seem to post anything without having to wait for moderator approval. Talk about inconvenience.
