For some reason I can't land on the Mun, I keep fucking up the landing, but I've managed to land on Minmus first try, using the larger rockets on second last stage to slow the descent before decoupling to the lander at about 5000m.

Never mind the landing legs on top, it's a crude attempt at a self-righting mechanism.

They look fine. As if you are waving in excitement. I landed, safely!

I think the exhaust is longer than the launch tower.. I really like the new mechjeb and how it lets you know the steering error and so forth, it's pretty helpful for particularly massive rockets. I just wish the physics didn't stutter so much, at 4+gs the parts start shaking violently. A solution would to make staging parts actually hold the rocket together without using a million struts.
This may have been asked before but how was this done? They have multiple ships driving around at the same time. Also, anyone know what mods were used here.

Press the [ and ] keys.
As long as you're in the same physically simulated space, you can set a vehicles throttle (while stationary) and then switch, and that vehicles engine will continue to run. The bomber and fighter I built as one craft, and detached the fighter from the back of it in flight.
Edit: And I didn't use any of that remote control antenna witchcraft, you dont need it for tank/ship battles.

I wonder what is your interstage and side booster part? It looks fit with KW.

Thank you so much for the info. Also, 100% amazing video. hands down the best KSP video I have ever seen. I also love the music choice.
so i turned on infinite fuel

I'm going to laugh when later versions of this game have missions consisting of rescuing all the Kerbans drifting into space or trapped on a strange planet. It would be kinda fun.
EDIT: And I'm wondering if there'll ever be some sort of minor effect of killing Kerbanauts, maybe a higher death rate makes future Kerbanauts freak out more.
I attempted my first rendezvous at 2844Km. I was unable to match velocities, although my supply craft nearly smashed into the station when I was attempting to get closer...

Yeah, 68 years is the maximum it'll ever show. Erlin will never experience the satisfaction of getting anywhere.
From Kerbin to Minmus and back again; an adventure in "oh god why is my orbit going like this and where has my fuel gone."

Playing with the Kethane beta that Mechanical Mouse Industries uploaded recently, and I'm wondering where the fuck is all the Kethane
Best reccomended method/site to post pics on this forum?

Finally found some Kethane and oh my god it's all in the ocean jesus christ I'm going to Minmus

Kerpollo 2nd stage fairing scaled 2.3x (or 2.5x, I can't remember). I scaled the KW parts 2x as well, so they are now 6 meter. The side boosters are the liquid boosters, I can't remember what pack.
This was fucking weird.
I was fucking around with stacking solid rocket boosters.

I thought there is no real sun, yet, in 0.16.
Apparently there is.
I wonder if you can land on the surface :v:
Can someone who has Novapunch upload the following parts somewhere? Or if anyone has a link to download the whole pack.
I want the nosecone (1m version) and the linear decoupler.

I already go out of my way to do this, no matter where they are. No Kerman left behind!
Yeah, the least you can do for them is offer a quick death..
Yes! By making a lander that was wider than it was tall, I managed to land on the Mun! Now before I send my brave pilot to walk on the Mun, is the gravity low enough that I can use the jetpack to land back in the ship? I forgot to bring a ladder.
[editline]19th August 2012[/editline]
I went ahead and sent him out, but it took a few minutes to get the jump back in just right, I guess Tom isn't exactly the most graceful Kerbal.
So now that I've landed on the Mun using only stock parts, I think I'll try out some mods. Or try to rescue the guy I left on Minmus.

Some land on other moons...
I land in a pile of my own ship, and survive.

I somehow made a Single-Stage-To-Munar-Orbit Space plane.
Rounded off the orbit with the large stockpile of RCS fuel.
I always wanted to try flying planes on the mun.. it looks strange and eery
That'll be easier in .17 when we get center of mass indicators.
With no atmosphere you gotta use RCS for your steering and vertical speed control and if they aren't centered it can be a real bitch to fly.
i wish the map would account for a planet's rotation when showing you were your spaceship will land
like have an orange dot on the surface next to your blue line or something
And atmospheric drag.
i wish the map would account for a planet's rotation when showing you were your spaceship will land

it should also account for atmospheric drag.. right now all it seems to do is just show the orbit should the planet not exist.
Ejection seats.
More than anything else, my Kerbals demand ejection seats.
Anyone have suggestions for parts packs? NovaPunch hasn't been updated yet and neither has Challenger Pack, the ones I used to use in .15.2
