KW is really good.
I do wish KW would update it's particle effects though, I think all the thrusters still use effects from 0.14.
Damn. My first successful attempt to land on the Mun ended in tragedy when the link between the parachutes and command module failed on re-entry... I'm back into the game after a long goddamned hiatus, how the hell do I get a spaceplane to fly with stock parts? Also, what basic mods do you guys recommend? Stuff like more parts and "cheat" stuff like really high fuel tanks and really good engines. Also I placed ladders everywhere on my ship but my guy refuses to acknowledge them and just goes up and down the little pod ladder.
I flew to one of the Community Bases. It would have been a flawless landing. But then, THE LAG. :suicide: EDIT:
Note: everything in here is basically abandonware as I do not develop mods anymore. You can use it for your own projects, but please credit me in a readme file.
Dibs on probe pack. :v:
Awesome, landed on the icy mountains of Minmus! About 1 km from where I landed there's a spot where you can see past the hills and see one of the ice lakes. It's pretty cool, because it's so far away, you can really see the curvature.
The struts holding my moon bound rocket all exploded in unison, except the ones holding the adv sas and the parachute. Hah bill go EVA to check the pod for structural damage, everything looked good.
Any tips for landing a space plane on mun or minmus? It seems a lot harder than landing a rocket actually , I already had a couple unsuccessful attempts.
I want to try making a ship that can land horizontally. Probably using the kosmos rendezvous engines, and possibly unfolding landing gear. Im also going to experiment with ways to absorb the shock of landing.
Horizontal landing, check. Walking away from said landing, in development.

Rounded off the orbit with the large stockpile of RCS fuel.
I feel oddly compelled to try matching this, seems challenging.
So on a scale of 1-10, how inefficient/ridiculous is this rocket? I'm actually not sure. listed for the most part from bottom to top: 24 tall solid fuel boosters 4 of the biggest stock fuel tanks 1 of the 2nd biggest 1 most powerful stock engine 16 small solid fuel boosters 8 sas units 8 small LV-T30 engines 24 of the 2nd smallest stock fuel tanks whatever happens to be in the lander/orbital whatever I'm using well over 100 struts :pwn: a bunch of decouplers It's what I've been using for most of my launches, it can get a decent sized lander (the one I'm using right now weighs 16.6) to escape velocity fairly easily. Also, how much do nosecones help? My rocket sort of has two main levels of rockets, and the distance between them goes from about a tall solid booster's height on the outside to the height of a FL-T400 fuel tank inside. Is the aerodynamic system detailed enough to tell the difference?
KSP's snapping system infuriates me to no end when working on small things, with crowded snap points.
Gonna try to get to the moon and leave something there with stock parts.
KSP's snapping system infuriates me to no end when working on small things, with crowded snap points.
turn it off?
Gonna try to get to the moon and leave something there with stock parts. turn it off?
He means the link system between the green dots, where if there's a lot in one place it's nearly impossible to find the right point to link to.

Yay made it to the south pole [thumb]http://puu.sh/X1Vx[/thumb] [thumb]http://puu.sh/X1VY[/thumb] and here is the craft that did it. [thumb]http://puu.sh/X1WP[/thumb] Took 40 minutes ,but it was worth it too bad I didn't have enough fuel to make it back.

When I look at this, the opening sequence of Battle Beyond the Stars starts playing through my head. And if you have never seen this Gem from 1980, fire up your netflix and check it out. Seriously, this movie was a porno that had all the actual porn editied out.
I started playing this again. It's fun to have a kerbal fall over, then have another stand on their head
-snip-
[t]http://puu.sh/X1DS[/t] Now to get them to attach properly.
I achieved orbit for the first time! The ship is stuck on it now, though. No fuel.
Cardboard, how large do you plan on making your Dragon capsule?
I've been trying to start making my own parts for the game, It was easy making parts through the old system, but being the newbie to unity that I am, I find the new part SDK is really confusing :suicide:
I put an orbiter in orbit around the sun, and tried to have brave lil' Ally Kerman crawl around the orbiter's ladders. To the horror of Ally's two ship-mates, she was struck by one of the ship's extensions and sent hurdling off into space. Now I have two objects in orbit around the sun! A great success for the Kerbal Space Program.
This is my V-TOL

Just sent out another three-person orbiter to test the effects of love triangles in zero G environments.

I've decided that, because kerbals are totally resistant to G-forces, they must be made of jelly (or jell-o).
