Sweet, which setting value is that?
3 and 4 for the respective Conics values.
So... I'll say something here, and I want some feedback on it. Right now, we've got a launchpad for rockets, and we've got a spaceplane hangar for spaceplanes. Both of these make vehicles that carry kerbals. I say we have a third building, a station-construction building. A place where you can use space station parts (inflatables) to build a station, and have it compiled into a payload. These payloads would be saved to the parts menu in the VAB, and would be roughly the shape of the nosecone on a Titan IV rocket. Slap one to the tip of your heavy-lift vehicles, and deploy it when you get into orbit. It seems to me like the easiest way to haul stations into orbit, as, currently, to get anything larger or less aerodynamic than a rocket into space, you have to abuse support struts. With this, you'd be able to get the station you want into space without utilizing broken game mechanics. What do you guys think?
How are support struts broken?

I'd personally like some parts that were easier to re-enter, a refueling/"reusing" system and an easy (read: near automated) docking system. Then I'd haul my space station up there bit by bit.
Oh god guys What if this game and its updates is all an allegory for the Space Race. Like, in the early days we had no idea what was going on and we didn't even know where the exact edge of space was and the orbital velocities and basically did it by the seats of our collective pants (Mercury, early Gemini) Then we got different abilities to see where we were going and shit, and the mods came in and we got to make bigger and better rockets (Gemini, Apollo, Soyuz) And then we saw the Moon and went there, then to Minmus (Apollo) and got to get out of the capsule (Though technically that came first, as well as docking and stuff) And now we're going to other planets with probes and junk. [editline]23rd August 2012[/editline] And now to recreate all the rockets from the space race.
... And now we're going to other planets with probes and junk. ...
Fuck probes. There won't be a single sign of life left on kerbin once I'm done with those little fuckers.
But, that's just a logical progression.
Sh... don't ruin my dreams. [editline]23rd August 2012[/editline] On another note: What can I do with Kethane? I have about 8,000 sitting in a miner on the Mun and I'm not sure what to do with it.
Oh god guys What if this game and its updates is all an allegory for the Space Race.
Where are the Red Kerbals then?
I can buy it for you, I was planning on donating to them anyways. I'm not entirely sure how to gift it though, so maybe you could PM me your info and we'll figure it out!
I got to thank LarparNar a huge lot. He bought it for me for free. Also, I've been living a lie. I've posted pics of my flights here before, but those were all from a pirated version. At least now I'm playing a proper version. I'll start a new play(through?), a clean one.
Where are the Red Kerbals then?
Maybe they own KSC2?
It'd be neat if you could create parts that have the ability to fabricate parts, and if they introduced a game mechanic that allows the soldering of parts together outside of the construction building. Being able to ferry resources from the moon to an orbital station who's job it is to create parts and then put them together would be amazing. Even if this construction-base was on the moon, we'd be able to get a lot further if we didn't have to deal with the Earth's gravity so much
Or, alternatively, if you send a special ship to the mun and land it safely, a vehicle assembly building appears.
Or, alternatively, if you send a special ship to the mun and land it safely, a vehicle assembly building appears.
Seems like that wouldn't really fit with the 'build it yourself' style of KSP
But it's easier from developing perspective. Maybe not exact same building, and resources are limited.
Easier to develop doesn't always mean better
Where did the "fuel consumption" line go? I don't see anything like that in engine config file.
:D just waiting for code now. who knows how long that will be...
I really really really really want things to burn up on reentry. And also clouds
Where did the "fuel consumption" line go? I don't see anything like that in engine config file.
It got changed into Specific Impulse [editline]23rd August 2012[/editline]
And now to recreate all the rockets from the space race.
I decided to start this for some unknown reason. All are as accurate to scale and burn time as possible without config editing the parts I had on hand Mercury-Redstone (obviously the easiest one :v: ): Gemini/Titan II GLV Apollo doesn't really work since I don't have 10m parts and multiple capsules don't work. I'll try to work on the Russian ones later
It got changed into Specific Impulse
I still don't understand it, I'm trying to make a cheater engine
I still don't understand it, I'm trying to make a cheater engine
Just make the SI a ridiculously high number
:D just waiting for code now. who knows how long that will be...
I've always been curious how the real Dragon was going to integrate landing legs into it's body. Having them pop out of the heat shield seems risky to me, as you're adding another open seam to something that's extremely important for the crews survival. Something sort of like what you have would seem the safest, but I don't know the logistics. Anyway, I'm just rambling on. I like the capsule so far.
I want to build a railgun that gets me to escape velocity before I'm 100m off the ground that's what I want
Just make the SI a ridiculously high number
Eats fuel in one second Making fuel capacity 999999 doesn't help
