I don't see kosmos. thus irrelevant.
also, didn't we try something like this before?...
you could always put kosmos on there!
it's never a bad idea to try again. a gmod.org type website for ksp is an awesome idea/website.
I don't see kosmos. thus irrelevant.

I'm not sure about trying this before, and KOSMOS isn't on there because you haven't put it up yourself. It's 100% user generated content rather than having slow and shitty admins putting other peoples mods up without their permission and shit.
So far we are doing far better than we expected:

the "Total unique site visitors" has only been counting for 2 days which is why it is less than total downloads (which has been counting since launch).
To be honest we didn't expect anything like that kind of a response and imagine how much bigger it will be if you put KOSMOS on there, our goal is to make finding mods easier for everyone while providing an (hopefully) excellent way for mod developers to get their content seen by people. Trawling through forums doesn't cut it when it comes to finding content.
We have absolutely no monetary goal, the site is about giving back to a game and community we love, not monetary gain.
It's being updated almost every day, right at this moment Shoar is working on the new system for reporting content (that is either uploaded by a fake, or is a duplicate or whatever) and I've just finished updating the rating system to a more logical method (with a youtube like percentage bar) as well as building a analytics system so mod developers can see their daily hits and downloads and so forth.
I don't think random people should be allowed to upload mods that they didn't create; I think it should be up to the creators of the mods to upload their work.
That is exactly what happens, but the reporting is in case somebody actually does upload a mod they didn't create, we can first notify the real author (if permission was given or its one of his alts or any other valid reason) then it will remain, but if the real mod author has no idea we can do one of two things.
1) get him to create an account (if he doesnt have one) and we can move the page ownership to that account (so the fake user doesnt get control and the real user now does).
2) remove the page completely and (possibly) ban the fake uploader.
I don't think random people should be allowed to upload mods that they didn't create; I think it should be up to the creators of the mods to upload their work.
So today i got off my lazy borderlands playing ass and finished texture work on this thing. I am mildly happy with the results. I tried to keep it simple yet detailed in line with the new stock parts. simply comic bookish textures but with normal maps and some detail with some noise. I think it will fit in well with stock parts.
It doesn't look like there will be any code to support engines or RCS or anything like that for sometime... should I just leave it like a stock pod for release or make it have separate parts for engines and RCS and junk.
Nice! Might I ask what the diameter of the docking node is?

If i try to register:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ')' in /home/content/36/9029536/html/kerbal/includes/functions.php on line 47
So, question, when 17 goes live, is it gonna break our saves? Or can I anticipate its arrival and set up signal relay stations outside of Kerbin orbit?

Highly likely everything will bork. It always happens when the map is updated in any way and considering this is the biggest map update yet, chances of salvage are slim at the least. Not to mention the saving system itself is being changed in .17.
AKA shit's fucked, everyone go home.
If i try to register:
Sorry that was a minor glitch with a new function for the reporting feature, it's all fixed now and I tested it and it's working fine.
sorry :c

Are you going to open source it at any point? Then the community can contribute to the site as well.
is it possible to assemble things in space in any way shape or form?

It's like what would be created if a Ballistic missile, a massive seaplane and a test-chamber from Portal all collided.

What do you mean?
Like what a lot of people do these days, put their stuff on collaborative coding sites like github. If anything, it's just useful to have it for the issue tracker and online redundancy.

Uh I'm not exactly sure about releasing the code under an open source license but there will be a well documented and public API for developers.

There is a space construction mod thing:
http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/9283-0-16-0-Plugin-Orbital-Planetary-Construction-V9-3
I can't register properly for kerbal.net.
It says that the account is successfully created, but I can't log in with it.
And I can register with the same user name and email multiple times.
I think I should start a new playthrough. My actual proper version of the game has everything done perfectly since I knew so much already.
I need unmanned probes and crashes and failures before I go to the Mun, damnit.
You want my save? I have a couple bits of debris here and there.
I think you can still see smoking wreckage from my... 6 attempts at a jet. There are also 2 disembodied rovers next to the landing pad and 50+ ejected rocket stages scattered in Kerbin orbit, accompanied by 16 rover control probes that were repurposed into comsats because the rover they launched failed in some way.
Oh and there's a single rover on Mun. I did actually succeed at some point.

But can we also turn that into flaming wreckage?
Probably could if you wish.
OH, and on ISA's MapSat thingie, map picked up a second Space Center. I'm at work so I can't get a screenie, but its there.

I just made two test accounts using the create account page and they worked fine, can you trying using an account with some random password and PM me the details for it and i'll try and sign in to it.
Long story short something weird is happening (I'll take a closer look tomorrow morning), and sorry for inconveniencing you :c

Just got another big mod (Electrical Energy plugin by Kreuzung).

Now all we need is KOSMOS ;D
When I try to use the confirm email link, I don't get any message or error on the page, but the link it takes me to is http://www.kerbal.net/error=706 (however I have no issue signing in)

That's actually because I disabled the need to active a created account (for the beta phase) and forgot to turn off sending emails. Accounts start activated in it's current state - I'll fix that right now.
KOSMOS? Pff. Let me know when KW is there.
Actually that's a good point (although I sent Winston a message but I haven't received any response)

I just made a test accound (Lapnar) and it worked just fine.
Could you check to see if the other account has gone through somehow? (LooperNor).
If it's gone through, can you reset the password or just delete the user?
PM me details if you reset it please :)
And no problem.

the ring on the top is the exact same size as the ring on top the stock pod.
how do you use the laser plugin properly? I find it fucks over my entire session after time warping, ie cannot end flight or mechjeb doesn't open.

We've known about that for ages. There's something on the navball that points to it too iirc.

how can you play with that man numbers and dials and stuff on your screen!

26 seems like a small number
I've had this idea for a long time and really want to do something with it:
Using all those telemetry modules (the ones that can be transmitted to other computers), I wanna get a bunch of people on skype or Mumble and set up like a mission control with everyone having a specific job and stuff.
That would be so fun.
