The ion engine on my satellite explodes every time I decouple it from the rocket, anyone else have this?
Hey wizard, suggestion for KerbalNet, use name cheap as your registrar
Yeah we're already in the process of moving to a less spastic registrar, sorry about all the downtime last night and hopefully we shouldn't have to worry about that any more. On the good news front we've tipped 50,000 visitors at (10-12k a day growing at ~19% - I have a hard on for analytics). [editline]aa[/editline] Oh and the API is working pretty much 100% now, if anyone is interested in joining the test group you can just PM me your kerbalnet username and whatever you want you "application" to be named.
as somebody who makes addons for another game, testing really is everything. Even for betas.. people build up expectations, and if you don't meet them they flip out and complain. I'm happy having them root out the annoying/stupid bugs and let us play the version with only minor issues.
ok so have some kind of opt-in system not some super exclusive club - why is it under NDA????
bc theyre dumb thats all i am not satisfied at all with squad to be honest. the game is fucking awesome, but they have been making some dumb moves, one after the other. and i'll sound like the entitled faggot that i am, but the only person that's still active in the community, giving news and shit is Nova. of all people, he is the best. he used to be a whiny bitch, now the guy's showing how cool he is, while everyone else is either silent or posting a "still not dead" message once a month
get your shit together harv [editline]11th September 2012[/editline] also i don't care what the devs say, little red men on a different planet with a different space pad would be awesome
i know i never expected it, but nova is pumping out content, and taking constructive criticism
Can anyone suggest any decent mods for me? I'd like to do stuff like space stations and rovers if that's possible.
Inacio just gave me some mods, MechJeb, MMI (Kethane and Sats) and Powertech.
Cheers for Oicani for getting mechjeb up on Kerbalnet <3
i still need to install kw i kinda missed NP
-snip- I figured it out. [editline]12th September 2012[/editline] YAY! I've successfully established Munar orbit and just performed my first EVA. Now for the landing. Any tips on burning speed and getting myself pointed in the right direction?
I deorbited a failed rendezvous mission. (Forgot RCS thrusters) The station module hit the ground at 150m/s The docking node survived.
anyone know how low you need to be for kethane?
I was just thinking; the Mun has no atmosphere, right? So theoretically if should be possible to get a circular orbit going that comes within a foot of the surface
its theoretically possible, but accounting for all the differences ASL/BSL would be nearly impossible
So I've achieved Munar landing. Looking at my current fuel level, do I have any chance of getting back to Kerbin? [editline]12th September 2012[/editline] I can drop the empty side tanks to save weight too. I probably should have done that before landing...
It wouldn't because hills.
hence 'comes within a foot of the surface'
if you do a direct ascent burn to plop you right into kerbin's SoI, you might be able to aerobrake back home
I figured that If I can get into Munar orbit, I could coast a bit until Kerbinrise then do a prograde burn at periapsis to push my apoapsis out to intercept Kerbin. Then I would just drift until I got there and burn the rest of my fuel to fall out of orbit.
I added a new module to Hermes Space Lab: This is pretty fun. :v:
Damn... How do I change my orbit to make it level with Kerbin?
hence 'comes within a foot of the surface'
Munar orbits at very low altitudes are a lot of fun, watching the terrain rush by from less than ~100 meters is an awesome feeling in KSP.
Anyone have a mun capable Kethane miner and/or a rover? I can't build mine without them falling apart from weight
Every time I build a rocket with the new nova-punch parts I go to launch the thing bam error followed by a crash, maybe some of the other parts are conflicting? It's only doing it for the NP parts.
would be neat if we had smaller and more precise building system for rovers. Maybe also the ability to wire things up and design automated motions or devices with some sort of simplified circuit creation system? I think using rocket parts for rovers is rather silly
Angara is coming along nicely, and will probably be available by the end of this coming weekend. Cardboard and I have been hard at work arguing over how the parts should be balanced. :v: Overall, however, the shift from pseudo-mathematical figures into gameplay-based figures is making things a lot more fun to look at and play. For example, this rocket flies well: While this one absolutely doesn't: Launching stations and doing Mun missions is going to be hard again, which is why I think this version of Angara is going to be the best we've had so far. BTW: Kyle and Winstonn, I've been using a specially resized version of your PLFs on my Angaras, and they work perfectly. If we credited you guys, could we include our special sized version in the Angara pack?

Holy shit! My kethane transporter can do liftoff from the moon with just the solar engines BUT ONLY if the fuel tanks for the landing engines are empty. So close but it makes shit so much easier. [editline]12th September 2012[/editline] That also means I can get rid of the fuel-based engines for the second transporter.

God damnit I got caught by the mun several times while trying to lower my PE around kerbin :v:
