My attempt to land on Minmus has failed and they're out of fuel... I don't think I'll be seeing those brave Kerbals ever again.
I was just thinking; the Mun has no atmosphere, right? So theoretically if should be possible to get a circular orbit going that comes within a foot of the surface
Totally, the maximum surface deviation on the mun is like 5km, so you can easily get that low.
You could have an orbit that was a foot off the ground, but the ground isn't flat, so you'd either crash or the floor would fall away from you.
On minmus, you can have an orbit of about 2km.

Is there a max orbit for the kethane sensors to work?
Also what is the lowest orbit for Kerbin.
Is there a max orbit for the kethane sensors to work?

I don't know about the first one, but any orbit below 70,000m over Kerbin will probably eventually decay, as that is where Kerbin's atmosphere begins.

I'm not sure if there is, but why would you want to place them so far out? A lower orbit would map faster.

What mods?
I'm not sure if there is, but why would you want to place them so far out? A lower orbit would map faster.
Indeed - while the ISA MapSat mod maps a larger area at a further distance, the Kethane sensor does not.
bc theyre dumb

i am not satisfied at all with squad to be honest. the game is fucking awesome, but they have been making some dumb moves, one after the other.
and i'll sound like the entitled faggot that i am, but the only person that's still active in the community, giving news and shit is Nova. of all people, he is the best. he used to be a whiny bitch, now the guy's showing how cool he is, while everyone else is either silent or posting a "still not dead" message once a month
We're just incredibly busy at the moment, and its pretty easy to get sidetracked from posting news. I agree, its been a while since I've posted an update though. I'll upload a new blog on the work being done on IVA and see if I can devote a bit more time to the forums.

I'm sorry we're so mean to you guys. We understand your plight, but with the coolness of this game and the amount of excitement it generates, it's easy to get lost in the flurry of emotions.
Love,

How do you add it to the persistence file? Do you just copy/paste it into the other ship?
Here you go. I'll see about adding a video later if I have some free time. Its a bit hard to show how IVA works in pictures alone.

C7 I love you.
[sub]Maybecanyouhintatareleasedateplease?[/sub]
That looks amazing! I can't wait to fly a rocket, feel it shake around a bit and suddenly see some rockets fly along the side of the cockpit while the crew is going insane.
Also maybe can you add a gear light to the indicator panel on the cockpits for spaceplanes?

I just want to publicly say that were I a woman I would gladly have your babies.

The entire teams'. I don't play favorites.
I absolutely love working cockpits too, great that you're making working buttons.
[editline]12th September 2012[/editline]
Perhaps you can map certain keys to certain parts in the VAB? For example, you could link a disable flow option for some fuel tanks to an empty button and rename said button. I don't think it would be easy to add but it'd be great for advanced rockets.
Also I'm pretty sure that 0.17 will include reentry heat, since A) Nova mentioned previously that the atmosphere of one of the planets would burn you up, B) Using the current heating system to do the previous only to have it scrapped in a later update would be a timewaster and C) the latest Kerbal comic hints at it.
then again, I'm a weird prediction guy :tinfoil:
did you guys know kerbals love the marijuana why do you think they are green
did you guys know kerbals love the marijuana why do you think they are green
Because they were modeled and textured in that fashion.

Holy shit.
I mean, I knew IVAs were going to be cool but damn that looks nice.
can you fly through the Sun? because I'm pretty sure one of my ships just dived through the sun and out the other side
I fucking hope reentry heat is added
I have wanted to see de-orbited stations burn up on reentry for ages

Only on 100,000x speed

probably because most people don't live in the middle of the pacific. I certainly wouldn't want to watch one of those nuclear powered satellites deorbit over my house though
Take a look in the second big screenshot of c7's blog post. In the top right hand corner there looks like debug info that reads "Ext Temp 17.14"
Safe to say that .17 includes re-entry heat.

pretty much every dev shot says that, even .13 ones if my memory serves me correct. Its nothing new
Outside temperature has been simulated since like forever.
