hey guys PA hit 2 millions :D http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/659943965/planetary-annihilation-a-next-generation-rts In other news. tonight I found some new pictures of the RD-191 engine. nice close up ones. so.... I figured i could probably make that pretty quickly by salvaging parts form the models. i was to tired to do other stuff.... but i got this together in like 3 hours. I almost finished it lol. Includes more accurate logical flow control pipes and such. Shorter profile, hope to have better mounting and gimbel brackets as well. Ironically more detailed less polies. but still.. silver or white...
Oh dog what done. [editline]14th September 2012[/editline] He's due to escape the sun in 68 years [editline]14th September 2012[/editline]
He's due to escape the sun in 68 years
I had no idea that was even possible in KSP. That's 6 hours at max warp if the Kraken doesn't get him!
I had no idea that was even possible in KSP. That's 6 hours at max warp if the Kraken doesn't get him!
Currently at 2018G. No kraken yet. [editline]14th September 2012[/editline] 52,000 m/s I may have just outrun it V:v:V
I had no idea that was even possible in KSP. That's 6 hours at max warp if the Kraken doesn't get him!
It's not, the sun has an infinite SOI. 68 years is just the highest number the game can display. It will stay on 68 years forever.
It's not, the sun has an infinite SOI. 68 years is just the highest number the game can display. It will stay on 68 years forever.
Well, until they add a second solar system. :O
once we get multiple solar systems, its going to get wacky, because you don't slide out of one solar system and fly right into anohter
once we get multiple solar systems, its going to get wacky, because you don't slide out of one solar system and fly right into anohter
We would need some really high time acceleration, too, unless warp drives happen first.
Does anyone else get lowish fps when looking at kerth? When I look up or down on kerth I get 60 fps, when I look straight or at kerth from space it's about 15 fps.
It's the ocean. That thing is anti-aliased to hell and back, there's a config change you can do lower it, but I can't recall it off the top of my head. Just google KSP ocean AA fix or something like that.
OceanPQS?
That rings a bell

I'm not sure how, but my Skylab's orbit decayed from 72kmx72km into the atmosphere. Maybe it's just the precision of the physics or tidal forces. Either way it was tremendously unspectacular, aside from the survival of the crew.. For the first time, I put a satellite/mini station in orbit for the first time, it's run by one kerbal. And he's scared of everything. Maybe this'll help.
Plz bring back my 2x speed :( Also I am finally going to give rendezvous a go next time I play
We're actually adding the physical warp back in this update. You'll be able to warp up to 4x speed before you need to go on rails (standard warp).
Turbopumps on rocket engines are such a convoluted, confusing mess. How the hell do I model them?
I feel like a fucking badass: OHGOD I did this challenge in one try, minimal fuel wasted, no quicksaving.
You should make the top mount be round instead of square.
Usless polies. adds a few hundred man :P besides square fits any circle perfectly.
Usless polies. adds a few hundred man :P besides square fits any circle perfectly.
how many polys is the whole thing so far? i'm trying to get to grips with what's good for ksp
how many polys is the whole thing so far? i'm trying to get to grips with what's good for ksp
well the original was 6400 polies new one is 5500 unoptomized
why is this one stage rocket capable of ACHIEVING ORBIT [t]http://puu.sh/15bk4[/t] RCS INTO ORBIT K
why is this one stage rocket capable of ACHIEVING ORBIT [t]http://puu.sh/15bk4[/t] RCS INTO ORBIT K
Now think of what that could be used for.
Whats that addon website that someone made?

So what mods have solar panels that are compatible with the Kethane mod? The current ones for it are broken.
After tweaking, getting into a proper orbit, and stopping it (mostly) from spinning, i finally got it to work properly
I just realized something. When docking comes, you could have a reloadable orbital cannon and ferry ammo to it. If radial docking is possible, you could even have an ammo rack orbiting alongside the cannon, or even attached to the cannon as a clip.
What kind of orbit should I use for a mapping satellite? I've seen a few posts with mapping tracks that look like sine waves but I have no idea how to do that.
What kind of orbit should I use for a mapping satellite? Kerbin rotates underneath you, making sure you map the entire planet eventually.
