I wish there was an even faster warp. 100,000x was mighty fast back in .16's munar insertions but at interplanetary distances it's like watching paint dry.

My dad bought KSP as a guest. Is there a way I can still update the game and everything?
Crashed into the surface of Duna at 1000 km/s after running out of fuel to land. Glorious attempt. Parachute didn't seem to work.

I did it in 300 days on my first try
What you do is make your apoapsis (relative to the sun) a point on the target planets orbit (or periapsis if you are going for a planet closer to the sun I guess)
Then burn prograde on the apoapsis to extend your periapsis towards the target orbit and wait for the patched conics system to predict a SOI change with the planet, throttle down and perform some minor adjustments in various directions to get the periapsis as close as possible (Multiple million meters may not be desirable, and it's more fuel efficient to do it early)
I don't know if this method works in every case, but I don't see why it wouldn't.

although you can do this, you can also just get to the PE of the SOI bend, close the orbit,
and then you can just lightly burn the new PE closer to the planet,
and into the atmosphere to burn off speed of the AP.

I have some empathy for his position. I know exactly how it feels when your under a lot of pressure and stress, everything is going wrong, and everyone wants to have their opinion considered and their idea used even though they are lacking key information, but you simply don't have time to explain why their idea wont work, or they wont listen and in the end you just end out flipping on them. I got to duna, and realised that both mechjeb's landing autopilot is half broken, and I didn't actaully have a lander attached to my ship.
I want to fly somewhere with just the cockpit and the map screen.
Landing would be hell.
