well guess im not using powertech to visit each moon. when powertech is working again ill use it to put a mapping satellite around each planet (but only use 1 rocket!)
Guys, PM me please. I'll buy you a 20€ game if you buy me KSP. You can only profit from that.
what the christ happened to that fuel tank

So someone else uses powertech.
Yea, its pretty broken atm.
I use powertech + MMI; I did my first eve landing vanilla, and then I made a freighter (with erkle's clamp) that can use the ion engines to ship things from one planetary SOI to another.
Didn't learn that the batterys weren't charging and the panels weren't working until I had the huge thing in a 200km orbit...
Website's up again!
I think.
Approved and flown by Jebediah himself.
I'm having problems determining whether or not I'm at the proper ejection angle, using the planetary calculator, for a transfer to Eve. I've had to eyeball it mostly. It worked for Duna, but it's not going so well with Eve. Any advice?

why not just buy ksp yourself then
anyways didn't realize laythe is tidally locked. that makes it a really boring planet, i wanted to watch an enormous gas giant rise and fall in the sky.
instead it just sits wherever it is on the horizon :/

Can you enter Jool's atmosphere?

Yep I guess there was an update.

gimbal lock map
find protractor
hold protractor up to screen

How do I gimbal lock the map?
rotate map until you are looking directly down at the solar system
you will only be able to spin or track the camera down around your currently targeted object
Can someone link me to Damned Robotics pack? That is, if it still works in 0.17. I needs me some rover panoramas!
how's the atmosphere on Duna and Eve? Are there other planets with atmosphere? What happens when you get close/into Jool's amtosphere?
[editline]21st September 2012[/editline]
Also, if you made a working lander for other planets (including the rocket). Can I see a picture of it? I want to see how others did this.
Fun fact: if you get the same circular orbit as another planet, but don't get caught in it's gravity, you can adjust your orbital phase difference - smaller orbit goes faster, larger orbit goes slower.
E.g.: You got to apogee that intersects the orbit of another planet, but missed the planet itself. You could make your orbit circular, then, if the planet is in front of you, make the circle a little smaller, and if it's behind you, make the circle a bit larger. If the orbit stays mostly circular and almost matches the orbit of another planet, that means there are chances for encounter all year round, as you stay close to the planet for longer.
It's a pretty wasteful use of fuel, though.
I demand warp drives.

the atmosphere on duna was so thin that pelf's machchute didn't deploy
haven't sent another ship there, but i know I can make it now
Hey Pelf, maybe you could enlarge your interplanetary shell so I could fit rovers and stuff? Just a suggestion.
Under the // --- asset parameters --- heading for each part, add in the following:
rescaleFactor =
... and put whatever value you like
Pelf, do you think I can just add a few zeros to the machchute air pressure deploy to get it to work on duna?
well fuck I have default parachutes on my rocket to Duna :suicide:
I'm pretty sure default chutes deploy.
Oh ok then it's good. I was afraid I had strapped on useless weight.

Sure. I'll upload it in a few minutes.
I thought I was ok at this game.
I keep failing though.
Even after using a protractor to set up my orbits correctly, I'm still not getting a Kerbin to Eve intercept.
Not exactly sure what else it could be.
are you going 270 degrees?
Patch server must be down.

Man, I wish they'd include some kind of 2d map overlay with geometric tools that allow you to calculate/measure your burn points and then set alarms for when you reach them.
