I was thinking something more like this since there is no solid rockets on this one which might alter the sound of the liquid engines. Something like that except more powerful.
haha. love the tiny island and space X super simple launch pad :D didn't that rocket fail on second stage or something? eh msut have been some other falcon
They did 5 launches of it, 3 of which failed.
They did 5 launches of it, 3 of which failed.
I thought the failures were just safety shutdowns.
Flight 1 was a major failure: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=QtbCqhj-3AQ Flight 2 got into space but the second stage failed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=utGuWJscbz8#t=201s (skip to end to see result) Flight 3 failed because the stages didn't separate properly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Dhci-93Xnxw#t=163s
I wonder why they don't have some kind of rail which the 2nd stage engine uses to prevent problems like in the second launch.
well gosh 3 failures but nothing since right?
I wonder why they don't have some kind of rail which the 2nd stage engine uses to prevent problems like in the second launch.
Unnecessary weight.
well gosh 3 failures but nothing since right?
No failures since AFAIK. Next Falcon 9 w/ Dragon launch is scheduled for April 30th 12:22 ET, so that will be exciting to see.
ah it is a Monday so I will be able to see this live :D how long after launch will it reach ISS?
05/03/12 -- SpaceX Falcon 9/Dragon berthing (target date) http://www.nasa.gov/directorates/heo/reports/iss_reports/2012/02212012.html [editline]17th March 2012[/editline] That's 03/05/12 for those who do it the right way. (3rd May).
ah it is a Monday so I will be able to see this live :D how long after launch will it reach ISS?
Two days, then a 29 day stay. [editline]fd[/editline] I think.
Two days, then a 29 day stay. [editline]fd[/editline] I think.
According to Wikipedia, the entire mission will take 22 days if they are allowed to berth.
Hi guys, are the bronies finally gone?
http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/misc_hardware/2012_competition_madness/1 If I win I will die from heart attack.
Hi guys, are the bronies finally gone?
no
well gosh 3 failures but nothing since right?
They've done two Falcon 1 launches since, both successful. Falcon 1 has been retired in favor of the Falcon 1e which I have yet to hear anything about. You can read more about the launches here.
http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/misc_hardware/2012_competition_madness If I win I will die from heart attack.
Damn fitting username.
Damn fitting username.
Works for me.
NASAs maps look oddly familiar... Reminded me of their little animation during the launch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=0cxsvVBemHY#t=1430s
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/3kgYu.png[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/GJYFn.jpg[/img_thumb] In the top right of each of these images, there is a readout of "Ext. Temp." in degrees. Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear oh dear could this mean what I think it means?
The only thing that concerns me are those textures.
And how well it runs. I run it at 20fps on low graphics already D:
wow debate is not tolerated
From skimming over the posts, it seems to be more bickering than arguing, in which case I believe the mods actions are fairly reasonable.
From skimming over the posts, it seems to be more bickering than arguing, in which case I believe the mods actions are fairly reasonable.
I actually was about to snip that, I skimmed the posts as well.
huh. so that IS mars I see in the sky at night in the same plane with the moon and the other two planets. i was right :D
Speaking of planets... Does anyone know when were going to see a new planet to land on? I haven't really been paying attention to the update news.
Speaking of planets... Does anyone know when were going to see a new planet to land on? I haven't really been paying attention to the update news.
Probably .15 or .16.
