Earth/Moon and Kerbin/Mun aren't to scale with each other, are they?
I'd rather have the big moon we have now than a smaller to scale one.
haha. I just saw the first picture of the Dragon Crewed capsule. Look where they put the engines :D look familiar?

You obviously influenced them :v:
I wonder is Musk plays KSP.

I though the engines were always like that.
I though the engines were always like that.
No, originally the engines were sunk into the hull. Like the attitude control thrusters.

I only see RCS exhaust ports in that picture.

as far as i am aware they have yet to start constructing an actual Crew capsule. just the engines have been made.

That is an actual capsule. They're launching it on April 30th.

No. that is dragon cargo(unmanned).
Dragon crewed is completely different. That is the one in the picture I was referring too. it is the one with the abort Super draco engines. (in place of escape tower)
in other news. ~10 days and afew hours till COTS launch ^^
The next big step for SpaceX.
But then what will come next. Heavy or Crewed? and what will ULA do?
I guess heavy if they want to keep testing the safety of a crewed version.
Did Harvester mention the standard part diameter is 1m, or did that convergently evolve from the mod community somehow?
The vanilla parts included in the game are all 1m diameter, so it was only natural to continue on that path.
I love these mods

[editline]20th April 2012[/editline]
it is perfect for cleaning up rubble by picking it up and dropping it from up high
Glad you like them!
Well thanks for linking them :C

So thats one of the things I'll be seeing then.
Sweet.

Launching it was hell because the arm completely fucked the weight balance.
I sure do love when someone posts a picture of a mod you want and then suddenly everyone else has it excluding you and no one will tell you what it is
its a fun time
A couple days old but:

Does anyone else think that helicopter parts shouldn't be a focus in the game at all or am I the only one who thinks that?

I wholeheartedly agree.
It's a welcomed feature, don't get me wrong, but for now, I think *space* should be a focus for the Kerbal *Space* Program.
Effort spent on things like this could be used elsewhere, where it's more needed.
Well its most likely C7 working on it so, it isn't really affecting work load.
Us programmers arn't always the best at staying on task.

Exactly.
If you let them work on what they want, they'll get jobs done faster, because they will be enjoying themselves.
I think spaceplanes should be as far as atmospheric crap goes.
I like plane parts in KSP, but the helicopter just doesn't fit
Oh really. I'm betting that in the final version you will need to retrieve parts to save money.
Helicopters.

Too bad 95% of said parts will be destroyed on impact.
SRBs are best dropped in the ocean. Most other components are not practical to recover.

Yes, in the final version. But this feature is still assuredly far off, thus developing such parts *right now* could possibly a waste of time.
At the moment, it sort of seems like people are trying to make KSP the new Rig of Rods. Jack of all Trades, Master of none, sort of thing.
Don't get me wrong, I like the abundance of features and possibilities, but I'd also like a functioning game first. :)
