I think Crysis was a pretty nice game, alot like Farcry actually.
I thought crysis was awesome, i loved fighting the aliens at the end.
I remember getting crysis and trying to run it on Maximum graphics, I got an FPS around 20 so I lowered it. I haven't tried it since I got my new NVidia 9800GTX+ though, so I think I might re-install it.
Anyone know if Warhead was any good?

If you like action, then yes.
first crysis sucked ass (imo), what made em think we wanted more?

Because it sold like 2 million copies and had great reviews with a 91 on Metacritic. Look at how many people hate Halo and they're still making that shit.
idk about you guys but I thought paradise lost was a fucking gaming milestone. Gameplay and graphics wise. I've never seen ice and snow that good in a game since uncharted 2 and that's a console game the FUCK

(referring to the chapter in crysis btw) (can't remember if its before or after exodus [ STRICKLAAAAAAAAND!!])
Strickland is badass
:911:
There is no ice after the uh sphere level, really. Warhead had that awesome level where you fight the aliens in the frozen jungle with other nanosuit guys. Should have been in the original game.

Reinstalling Crysis for slowmo fun.
If they would make a big jungle map with only koreans, I would love it, but aliens were shit.
AGREE! 100000x over I agree
Will it run better now that they implemented DX11?
[editline]07:32AM[/editline]
I can pull 40 FPS average on maxed out settings with 4XAA but it'd be nice to get the most out of my monitor's refresh rate. ;)
My 11 year old Dell does run Crysis on Medium-High.
Admittedly, I changed the card to a 7600GS.
But the Pentium 4 2.4GHz and a Gig of RAM holds up pretty well, it was the most expensive one at the time.
By the way, Cryengine 3 is free for universities and such.

My 1.6ghz amd, gb ram, 6100 integrated nvidia runs it on lowest possible at 10 fps, fully playable :D
I hope there aren't any god damn aliens in this.
But I know I'm asking for too much.
I had so much fun with the game until "SUDDENLY;- ALIENS! MILLIONS OF THEM!"
Comon, Crysis was seriously not that bad, you all just butthurt because your moms dell couldn't play it.
I mean you can't deny that an entire island being flash frozen isn't unique. Sure the aliens where a little bland to fight but in Warhead Crytek showed that they could make it a hell of a lot funner.
it was one of the worst games i have ever played, and i regret buying it.
the graphics were / are awesome, but the gameplay is comparable to halo which must be the worst game i have ever played.
i want crytek to deliver the engine and someone else to make a good game.
Im not gonna buy crysis 2 after the shit they pulled out with Crysis MP. Hell yeah, lets just abandon this shit
and move on to the expansion.
Worst thing about Crysis is the combat... which is embarrassing for an FPS. The graphics are incredible and, upon playing the first mission, it's hard not to think the game is awesome. I seriously get bored of the game by the second or third missions though.
The sound effects suck.
The characters are all dull and one-dimensional.
The storyline is predictable and the introduction of aliens ruined any chance the game had at being decent.
The weapons are all piss-poor and boring after the first time you've fired them.
I thought the choice of stealth over action might save the game for me, seeing as the combat is so shoddy, but all it does is make the already mind-numbing game longer. "Stealth" is just a matter of slapping on invisibility, running a short distance, hiding in a bush, recharging the suit, repeating. I can't think of a more sleep-inducing game mechanic.

I think the aliens completely ruined Crysis. The first half is fun... and then the aliens come and it's boring.
I could not get into the first game. So god damn dull.

this games futuristic so it must be like halo in every way.

You can take a lot of hits and you're in a battle suit, you also fight aliens. You can also shoot guns. That's as far as I can compare them.

exactly. I hate it when people take one game and compare it to another one because they have a few minor similarities.
IE:
assassins creed is a knock off of splinter cell because they both use stealth.
I've actually gotten into an arguement about that.
i heard an argument how a game that came out 5 years earlier is a rip off of a current game
[editline]03:28PM[/editline]
and no, not the other way around

That's because gamers today are pathetic. They only look at the graphics and look nothing for the story or gameplay. It's sad.

I'd go with a decent story and fun gameplay over graphics anyday.

Or the name on a box, as shown by MW2 (because that game has shit graphics).

Congratz. You're in the in club. Except to the majority outside, in which case we're the out club.

You do realise no-one was expecting Crysis' story to be good, they expected heart pounding nanosuit action that would push their PCs to the limit and that's what they got. Most people probably bought Crysis because of its reputation as a benchmark, and therefore penis extension. And the korean levels were amazing, even though the alien levels were full of stupidly unsatisfying enemies and annoying plot.
I enjoyed crysis, decent modability, great fun to play (although that dropped dramatically when they introduced ICY ALIEN MECHS) people who keep saying "LOL CRYSIS SUCKS, ITSABENCHMARKLOLOL1!" should try it out sometime (and not on a shitty dell mind you)
