So Jeb said on his twitter that zombies will be able to break down wooden doors on hard mode :tinfoil:
Sounds like a bad idea, honestly. It encourages some awkward gameplay. You can just put some dirt on the inside (or outside) of your doors and the zombies still won't be able to get past them. And it only takes one block of dirt per door. And dirt is easily mined by hand. So this whole change becomes a minor inconvenience/annoyance. Brilliant.
Dude, chill out and get an iron door.
Just watch. Zombies will be able to destroy both wooden and iron doors. Calling it right here. [editline]Time, Mr. Freeman?[/editline]
Zombies break down iron doors on hard difficulty.
(Source) Oh, hey! I was right. Err, why is this dumb?

So this whole change becomes a minor inconvenience/annoyance. That was very thoroughly thought through, MC devs. Just watch. Zombies will be able to destroy both wooden and iron doors. Jeb already stated that zombies can only break wooden doors. There is no way they can break iron doors. I can deal with them by just barricading the doors.
FINALLY MY PISTON LAVA BRIDGE WILL BE OF USE TO ME
Stop complaining and just deal with it. Is it that hard? And it only happens on hard mode so if you don't want it, don't play on hard mode.
What is your definition of complaining? I said I don't think it's very well thought through and won't really add much of anything to gameplay. That's criticism, not complaining. Could you stop assuming that any comment of disapproval made on anything Jeb does is just complaining and attacking whoever makes such comments, please? Be civil and discuss.
FINALLY MY PISTON LAVA BRIDGE WILL BE OF USE TO ME
That's what I'm planning to do. But... I'm not good at all with redstone. Any help would be appreciated in helping me make one.
Basically, it's more along the lines of a radio station. Using it you can theoretically make a radio station that can transmit messages, anything from Morse code to entire sentences depending on how much infrastructure you want to put into it. (Making pixel displays that can display letters is a pain in the ass) Those messages can be received by anyone anywhere on your server, once again assuming they also have the proper infrastructure to decode your messages. And yes, it can be done in vanilla minecraft. I'll upload a video if I get around to building it, I'm at Uni so finding free time is kind of a pain in the ass.
Ugh these vanilla wireless redstone implementations all rely off of glitches (and can be unreliable most of the time). I've heard of manipulating and working off of redstone updates and the more recent arrow glitches, both of which are veeeery temperamental about EVERYTHING, almost like Simski and his personal concept of exactly how Minecraft should be... :P
On the megabuild I saw some restone torches over eachother acting like a vertical redstone placement. Anyone know how to do this?
On the megabuild I saw some restone torches over eachother acting like a vertical redstone placement. Anyone know how to do this?
It's like this: []/ / []/ / / being torch and [] being block. Apply a redstone current to the LEFT SIDE of the bottom torch, and it will change the values of the torch above. It's a very neat trick for large redstone contraptions that use a lot of height layers. As I recall from 1.8, you can also do it like this: / \ / \
It's a block with a torch on top of it, with a block on top of that, with a torch on top of that block etc etc The torches power the blocks above them, causing the torch on said block to switch states causing the block above them to have that state causing the torch on that block to change to the opposite state and so on. You can easily send basic redstone signals vertically in a 1x1 block footprint - but remember that since the torches act as inverters, you may need to adjust how many block/torches are used so you get the same signal you put in the bottom. It's not too good of a solution for mechanisms which rely on short pulses as the torches tend to eat them up (and add delay, one tick for each torch).
I'm fine with more challenge, but they really need to revamp the combat system first. Anyone whose played online knows hit detection and mob attack range are entirely wrong. I'd like minecraft to be challenging, but it's really all luck at the moment.
Hey guys, can you help me out with a redstone question, I was going to ask in a redstone thread but I don't think there is one :/ I have 4 different incoming signals. There's 16 different combinations that the signals (on/off) can form. I need the most efficient way to split the 4 signal input into 16 different redstone wires, where a seperate one would light up depending on which combination of the original 4 signals are on. Hope that was clear enough to understand...
FINALLY MY PISTON LAVA BRIDGE WILL BE OF USE TO ME
And then Jeb released the most fearsome monster of all time: Skeletons with buckets. [editline]9th February 2012[/editline]
Hey guys, can you help me out with a redstone question, I was going to ask in a redstone thread but I don't think there is one :/ I have 4 different incoming signals. Double doors in existing maps will need to be updated - Villagers will move indoors during night and rain, and socialize with each other - Zombies will break down wooden doors on hard difficulty - Added cat sounds - Better movement for mobs in water - Added rare mob item drops
how do i bullets
You want one of these, I think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=gGyiicYCz_A
Holy shit that is massive. I thought of something similar in the meantime, it's basically like that only it takes a space of 2x2 chunks from bedrock to ground level. It's going to be used to decode alphabetical signals.
A guy told me that you would be able to dupe lava like water in the upcoming version. Is this true?
Whoawhoawhoawhoa. Rare mob item drops? How does that work and what is dropped?
Whoawhoawhoawhoa. Rare mob item drops? How does that work and what is dropped?
It sounds like it is just existing items like weapons and armour.
I'm guessing music discs.
It's iron weapons and armor Also there's a rumor that zombie pigmen might drop a gold bar every once in a while instead of just nuggets
Whoah I know I'm late and all but what the fuck happened to Simski last page Either he had a mental breakdown from being somewhat chill all the time or he is secretly a master troll

Zombies go after villagers now and said villagers run away from zombies. However they haven't figured out how to get on roofs yet. Simski is killing himself right now
If that was the case, then it would actually have been delayed indefinitely.
Fixed that for you. :3
A guy told me that you would be able to dupe lava like water in the upcoming version. Is this true?
Sorry about that.I said that you could in the current version(I read about it back around the time the release candidates were released, maybe it was removed. Sorry again for the disappointment. [editline]9th February 2012[/editline]
Zombies go after villagers now and said villagers run away from zombies. Lava makes sound now too, or was that in already?
Do zombies actually break the doors or do they just open them?
