I don't quite understand how the devs can tolerate such arsebiscuits for so long.
It's the same setup innumerable great games use (every single one of Quake's horde of children, for example), and it makes perfect sense, especially for bugfixing and modding. Up until now, Mojang has essentially been developing 2 slightly different copies of Minecraft simultaneously.

From what I saw, the most the server can do is offer the pack for download, it's up to the client to actually download and apply it (automatically of course)

Maybe it's like an elimination game where you're taken to the main menu when you die, but the server never actually shuts down.

I really like how that sounds.
Imagine having 32+ players join at once, and try and survive as long as possible, either together, alone, or in teams.

Yeah, but this has a little bit more finesse. There are classes (which you sadly have to pay for) which start with different stats/items. You begin with 3: Barbarian has a stone sword. Fisherman has a fishing rod, and Scout has 2 splash potions of swiftness.
There are also feasts like in the book/film. A shitton of chests, but everyone always goes for them.
I came 4th in the very first game I played. Not bad, eh?

I hope they do. Everyone seeing the same thing is a good thing. Preventing simple xray textures is also a good thing.
That hunger games server is intense.
First the murderpit. Then the race for Iron and then sneaking around picking poeple off.

Anyway I'm looking for a pack that makes the world a little more colourful and interesting. I want to build a "classy" mansion kind of thing, so if anyone knows any packs that would suit that, do tell.
Also, does anyone else find worlds are more boring now? My worlds seem to always be flat grass, then some flat slow, then some flat sand, then some flat forest, then half a mountain with no trees on it, repeat.
We used to get cool worlds with mountains and trees and just seemed more interesting to me.

I get shitloads of jungles in my world. It gets pretty annoying sometimes when two border with a snow biome.
So how about that 360 version of Minecraft. It really seems like much more of a solid game than the current version of MC. I could see myself playing the 360 version a lot more than the PC version just for the streamlining and bugfixes.

I'm currently uploading a video that shows that there is no lag, performance is fine, and collision is fine too.
I think he has failed at his kingly duty or he needs a PC more fit for a king.

I might use the 360 version to introduce new friends to Minecraft and play with my IRL friends since I'm pretty sure more of them have an Xbox.
If there's one thing I hate slightly less than a suit of diamonds sprinting towards me, it's seeing a fire in the middle of a forest.

So I was playing on the Minecraft.nl server, when suddenly I saw on the live map that two guys were approaching my base. They showed up on my doorstep (whole base was protected, factions plugin).
They threatened to build a TNT cannon, but I just told them (exact same words):

These new videos have made me super excited. I am disappointed that it's going back to 1.6. HOWEVER. I do understand why they are doing that. They need to get the game out before they can play catch up. And I also like how they are doing a hybrid version of 1.6.
They mentioned they added several bug fixes from the current version. It looks amazing. 1600MP is slightly steep considering I bought Trials for 1200 and they are both full games. But at the same time, Minecraft will be receiving constant updates, unlike Trials which will probably only add a few fixes here or there is necessary.

I just don't see how people can be so ignorant, I mean its a snapshot I doubt they would have all those bugs in the final version of 1.3.
