Splitscreen is amazing for Minecraft 360, and it is drop in drop out seamlessly.
Wish there was creative mode, though.
And take screenshots by pausing and pressing Y, but they get uploaded to your Facebook account only, though. Shame.
We all should get together on MC 360 and play.
When I say "We" I mean everyone who owns it, I don't, not sure if it is worth it.
I am checking up some reviews of Minecraft XBLA version. Looks fairly decent :v:
Got my hands on it. It plays fairly smooth and comfortable. Only one thing that bugs me is the crouching system but whatever.
113.21MB. Significant change to the original. I'm surprised there are only 17 new posts from my last visit here last night. I would have thought there be a boom of you guys talking about how awesome or shit this version is.
No matter, I'm almost done downloading, and I am so excited I think I need a change of pants.
What's preventing me from buying the Xbox version is the fact the worlds are only 1000x1000. The achievements also seem rushed and too easy.
If we could organize 8 player games and add each other on Xbox Live I might consider, though.
My local gaming bar is the best place ever.

Since everyone is saying the game on 360 is good, is it worth it? Also if I get it, and people say the multi-player is good, would you guys play with me?

Maybe we should make a thread about the Xbox 360 version, with a complete list of all people who have it for the Xbox. That way we could easily organize games and play together. Would probably encourage people to buy it as well.
I wish I could buy it, there's no way for me to get any MS points though.

Yeah probably should, uhm, I have a question not really minecraft related, but it is part of buying it, if I get 2000 points on my moms account (we have family gold membership), and buy the game on hers to save time, can I still play the game on my main account?

1000x1000x128=128,000,000
The worlds are a lot bigger than you think my friend. And it's an early version, there will be updates and there will be changes. You can most certainly bet on the worlds getting larger and larger.
And as for achievements, who the hell gives a damn? They don't do anything for you except tell everyone what you've done. The PC version has the same exact achievements and you're complaining about the xbox version of them? If that's the reason you won't buy the game, then maybe you shouldn't be playing games to begin with.

The achievements aren't the only reason, not at all, but I thought it would be cool if they were more challenging. For instance, the getting wood, taking inventory and some others. I really like achievements by the way, and I'm probably one of the very few who give a damn about them. Don't know about you people, but it makes me feel rewarded and helps keep track of what to do.
I never considered that the updates might even expand the map though, so that gives me lots of motivation at least.
Profan's server is nice, but I want to join a server where I know someone. Anyone playing that would offer me a place to stay and get started?
Also, I've like asked for whitelist and then not played like 3 times now. If they start to notice they'll eventually stop inviting me
I can whitelist you right now if you want to pm your ign to me.
Just wasted 5 minutes of my life making this.

I'd be glad to help you out. I have a decent house set up with access to everything you'd need. Or I'm sure someone else would take you in if you asked around a bit.
I've got plenty of room and extra stuff in my place on Profan's, but getting to my location is a bit of a chore.

Yeah, that's fine I guess. I'll try to get around to getting whitelisted again and I'll pop on and look around.
Alright, I just bought it for Xbox. Loving it so far.
If anyone wants to play with me I'll happily do so tomorrow. Add me on Live and say you're from Facepunch.
how do you even host on the newest snapshot.
I have open ports and my firewalls has exceptions, But the other person still cannot join a client hosted game
There is trial for Minecraft X-Box. not sure what it is limited to.
There is trial for Minecraft X-Box. not sure what it is limited to.
I assume it's either notch's 30 minute demo or just the intro in the xbox version.
Yeah the trial is just the tutorial level. it has split screen though.
there is also this pop up that happens at random times telling you you're playing the trial and that you would have more fun playing the full game.
How is everyone liking the 360 edition? So far I'm happy with everything for the most part. I still wish it was up to date with the PC but I understand why it isn't.
Something that's making it hard for me to play for long periods of time though is my screen has issues where it burns images rather easily. It's an older HDTV I bought from a pawn shop so it's quality is to be expected. Normally I can play a game for hours with no problems, but because Minecraft has a very specific UI set-up it just sits there, burning. I was in a cave for 10 minutes and when I went to leave I noticed the middle was brighter and the sides were darker. Exactly like the cave.
do we pre-alpha buyers get Minecraft for the 360 for free?
No we do not, they stated this a couple times before but it was a bit hard to see.
Anyways, the xbox version is pretty fun!
wow, that's stupid.

How do they help you keep track of what you do, Whenever you start a new map your don't get the achievement again, it only helps you once and even then when you have played the game for almost a year you know exactly what you need to do, hell after playing for a month you know what to do. The achievements are nice, but there isn't really anything in minecraft at the moment that is really a good achievement worthy thing, well except for killing a skeleton at 50 yards or whatever.
The Xbox 360, a 7 year old $300 piece of hardware can play minecraft smoothly splitscreen. Playing online doesn't lag at all.
My PC, a 5 year old $2,000 piece of hardware can't run it smoothly with just one player. Playing on LAN lags.
