And I absolutely fucking loathe it.
There is a limit to how much you can complain about how butt-hurt you are about the future update. Yet, your voice is being shot down a million to one. Many people wanted increased difficulty, so much that it overrode those that didn't. They are just trying to make as many people happy. So rather than bitch about it here, go use Twitter.
In none Simski's hissy fit news, does anyone think there would be a good way to make an iron ingot farm via zombie spawner? It seems that they don't drop it if they aren't killed via player (I think), so would there be a different way to get the iron ingots faster than via my XP farm?
Probably the same way you make Rotten Flesh/Exp Farms now.
I love how everyone keeps saying zombies breaking doors increases difficulty, because it doesn't. It just creates inconvenience. All you have to do is barricade (or replace) your doors with dirt and you're safe. :v:
This is why I'm criticizing the change. It's not very well thought through.
If you have a house with one door, then no it really is just a slight inconvienience. But if you have a bigger house with a lot of shit in it, and a lot of doors, then the zombies will break down the doors. And if you don't then they'll just chase you through.
Help me!
I can't start a minecraft snapshot server. It keeps spamming this message into the console, and I can't even get it past the generating properties file:
at sh.b (Sourcefile:37)
at sh.a (Sourcefile:29)
Oh god, entire villages are wiped out in this new snapshot. I feel so bad for them, zombies kill them in ONE HIT and all they can do is run...

Now what Jeb needs to do is implement villager's combat stuff.
Guys!
Guys!
Hey!
Listen!
How about using a special piston entry?
Fashionable and safe from zombies.
You guys have a problem with blocking your door?

Just a simple piston blocker. It's as simple as flipping a switch.
Goddamn playing on this server with Sporega. That night was fun with all the fucking dying an the zombies banging on the door.
my adventure map is coming along good but I made an oops
I used mcedit to replace around 5 million blocks with grass because I needed an area cleared out and flat
all the underground grass turning into dirt seems to be making the game lag a lot
[editline]9th February 2012[/editline]
by the way is there a way I can disable biomes in a map
maybe change the seed to the flat map seed or something?

Snapshot server?
Do want.

Turn all but the top layer into dirt?
I'm not familiar with MCedit so I'm just throwing a suggestion out there.

Does anyone else have this horrible habit of going on extensive nether/mining adventures, alone, and then die in a retarded fashion and lose all of your shit?

It's fine, it's fixing itself gradually
I still need help with the biomes thing though.
I lit the biome buster while standing on top of it (not my smartest decision.)
It blew me out of the skybox. Below me is a light blue sky with a sun slowly going from one side of the other, above me is a darker blue sky with a sun going slowly from one side to the other. I can't kill myself either because it was a creative mode map. Woops :v:
can anyone tell me if industrialcraft and buildcraft are compatible? i installed buildcraft and started a sp creative world to test but i cant find items like the quarry and auto crafting table in the item list
IndustrialCraft and Buildcraft work fine with each-other, but Buildcraft is retarded when it comes to creative mode. SpaceToad is going to have to update BuildCraft to play nicer with the Creative menu.

Programmable timer.
[editline]10th February 2012[/editline]
It's expandable indefinitely
The redstone on top of the block next to the piston is not needed.
Oh, okay.

Well shit, how will I be safe while flying planes now that they've added aerial skeleton fighters?
I haven't been keeping up much with Minecraft in the last few months. Is there a little mod that disables the Enderman, but leaves everything else intact?

Come my people, our planet needs us!
The redstone on top of the block next to the piston is not needed.
Oh, okay.
That was just for testing purposes before I made it.
Sorry to barge in on the redstone conversation, but I've found a fun habit for naming things in multiplayer. I alone sailed across an ocean biome and landed to form a colony, away from the server's main town.
I decided to call it "Pebble Landing". Instead of putting a sign that says "Pebble Landing" on it, I wrote a short poem on several signs.
"This virgin land extends its bountiful hand, for us champions of foreign seas. Our crops need tilling and our ships need manning, but we welcome you to Pebble Landing."
Better than nothing right?
Right next to the main mine I plan on putting a sign or two that reads,
"Down in the perilous depths below, a thousand rivers of magma flow."
Better than "Public Mine" I think.
So yeah guys, poetry on signs. It's fun.

I like naming mine based on the surrounding environment. My towns mine, for example, is situated among a bunch of enormous trees, therefore it's called "Shady Hollow Mine".
Why not just have a craftable lock for doors? :v:
[editline]10th February 2012[/editline]
Like, you add it with a door in a crafting grid and then zombies can't break it
[editline]10th February 2012[/editline]
but it works the same as a wooden door

What part of "breaking the door" do you not understand?
"Let the zombies hit the door, let the zombies hit the door."

I doubt a lock is going to stop zombies from tearing the door from its hinges.
