Behold… a great way to get chickens, and food.
Chicks are spawned from eggs through a deployer on the top. These then grow into chickens, which produce eggs, which are sorted and sent back up to the deployer to produce more chicks.
If such a time comes that I get too many chickens, or REALLY hungry, the igniters placed around the edge will kill them quickly and… well… painfully I’d imagine. The resulting cooked chicken and feathers are sorted into a chest.
I am so NOT having too much fun here!
Also not shown, I’m currently using a Dr. Horrible skin, which seems rather fitting.
I wish I was as good at 'sprucing things up' as I was making cool architecture. (well, it's cool to me, some people might think it's ugly.) :(

I've killed 8 Endermen and only received one enderpearl. I also have 3 "Far" records.
Trying to find the end is hard.

Could be the torches on the floor and even walls, they count as blocks.

I originally used Isabella as a substitute for Quandary. I soon found out that Isabella was amazing.

Ok, I removed the torches, im at layer 25, and hid 30 blocks away, waited an hour, and still no slimes.

When abandoned mines started generating.

Torches spawn in abandoned mineshafts, and sometimes need a block update to produce light properly

Yeah its odd. You might have just not noticed them, since alot of times they dont give off light.
Well that puts me at ease. I took and immediate right after taking that screenshot and ran into 3 endermen in a 3x3 area. I thought I had ran into something unseen before. Needless to say 3 endermen scared the hell out of me.
Can you burn wooden tools or ladders?

I made a similar device using only RedPower2, except it had a big chamber that drowned the chickens instead of burning them, as this was before ignitors were added. Yielded roughly 55 chicken on every run, with a run occurring roughly once every 45 minutes.
Any facepunchers willing to use hamachi and want to do some vanilla survival? I'll host. I want at least 3 people, but I'll take like 7, it shouldn't lag too much.

There's naturally generated torches in Strongholds and Villages, too - look for the dried fountains and taverns, respectively.

I suggest digging down a little bit. Your eyes may be at layer 25, but that's only 2 blocks of space. Digging down a couple extra blocks - up to 5, maybe? Might trigger a few to spawn.

Speaking of this - has anyone else found torches being created AFTER being in the village a little while? I don't mean suddenly giving off light, I mean literally being put there after a villager runs in at night. I built an empty house with no torches and found one in there later.

Slimes only spawn in certain areas, you might want install a minimap mod or something to find out where they spawn.
