The current terrain generation has its shining moments sometimes, but often I find it to be quite bland. Maybe if forest biomes retained the old terrain generation, or a part of it, then it would be nice. That's the one thing I strongly remember from pre-1.8, the way the forests felt.

Yeah but the places were much more inspirational, you had these huge mountains full of trees where you can build your base and even a whole town, with a balcony in the mountain or something.
And the people were a lot more creative these days, because there weren't all these hacked clients and creative mode, people were much busier with making epic bases.

I've gotta say, there's something about the old versions which I just find terrifying - much scarier than the new minecraft.
I loaded one of my first few saves where I ended up building a giant disk in the sky for my house, and it spawned me at the bottom of a massive cave system. It just seemed more tense and in general scarier than the newer caves.
Though, might've just been the old lighting straining my eyes :v:

he's not removing emeralds, he's removing the extremely rare ore that has a 1/1000 chance to spawn

1.3 is looking to be an amazing update. I'm most looking foward to the ability to play with others using your local computer without setting up a server. It will make it far easier for my friend and I to play together.
