Yeah, Sphax is lovely. I've always been a sucker for texture packs like this one. If you really want something Wind Waker-esque, check out Xaiwaker. I used it loads pre-beta (Probably around Christmas 2010) and don't know if it's still around, but I remember it being gorgeous.
I'll scout around for it if you're interested. (Xaiwaker I mean, sphax is pretty popular at the moment)

You can't find emerald ores underground anymore. You can only get emerald by selling shit to villagers OR in chests.

There is a reason they are mods and not in vanilla Minecraft. If theres a mod you find repulsive for no reason other than that you don't enjoy because its not what your into then don't install it.

personally I like it because there's a few useful things in there; I'd love to mine out a chunk entirely of ore while building a mansion and smelting different things and managing a nuclear reactor VERY close to my base at once but you know I can't
