I'm just saying that I don't see what the fun is in building a machine that does the work for you.
I find building the machine itself is more fun then running it. then it's just sit there and watch it go. I prefer to do a lot myself in Minecraft, only thing I ever really automate might be a cobblestone and obsidian generator. Though with the obsidian, I still need to put down the redstone, pour lava on it, then harvest since without mods that can't be done automatically.
I'm watching the very first Shadow of Israphael episodes (back when it wasn't SoI) Twas a simpler time. Actually makes me a little nostalgic, if it's even possible to be nostalgic for a game this young.
heres the video incase someone wants to watch it.
That looks freaking amazing. Converted to a Java/Minecraft format. What's next, Windows98?
I can't stand all those power and industrial mods. Kind of ruins the fun of. Well, you know, MINEcraft.
Wiremod and E2 all over again
woo, tekkit/technic pack :)
We have a goddamn mod thread, use that
i'd love to use those crazy mods if i had any idea of what the fuck to do with them
I find the most enjoyable thing about mods is that they give you a wide variety of selections if you just want to screw around in creative get something like explosives+. but if you enjoy building complex contraptions then go with mods like buildcraft and redpower. I love the feeling of accomplishment you get when you work hours on a massive machine and you finalize all the bugs and when you flick the switch everything starts to come to life. driving its way through solid rock and paving massive roads while you sit by and watch as your resources begin to accumulate.
What's these mods with power sources and more blocks and stuff? I wanna try something new, kinda bored with Minecraft how it is at the moment.
I can't stand all those power and industrial mods. Kind of ruins the fun of. Well, you know, MINEcraft.
Have you ever been to a modern mine? There is a hell of a lot more machinery than people with pickaxes.

Can you use all of these at the same time or will they glitch out? If so, wich ones work together?
Can you use all of these at the same time or will they glitch out? If so, wich ones work together?
Due to the fact they all use the very popular forge API to work they are completely compatible I use them all at once my self also redpower and idustrial craft both have copper and tin ores if you wish to disable one from generating copper or tin so you don't have two different types of the same ore you can disable it in their config file.
Awesome. I'll try it when I get home

I'd love to take you through the mods and stuff, but only on the weekends because school sucks, and timezones. [editline]30th May 2012[/editline] i have a tekkit server hosted, if you want, I'll add you on steam and we can talk about this tomorrow/later so we can jump on tekkit and I can teach you things, (it's private, not public so it's all good)
Any guides how to use these?
Just watch direwolf20's videos, he explains a lot of stuff and he uses all of these mods in his let's plays youtube.com/user/direwolf20/
for switching between modded and vanilla (because modded won't work on non modded servers here) just rename the jar, force update, then rename the jars as you need them
I don't think the emerald ore should be common, if even there at all. If you can mine for it then you aren't really trading.
Thanks for the tips about the mods. Oh boy I've been busy. Found a small nice cave to start everything in. Dug, found ravine. Dug like 3 more blocks and found a huge cavesystem. Got working and now it's going pretty well. Was more difficult than I thought, heh :v:
I really hope they refine villages to the point where it's realistic. As much as I love mob processing and stuff, I don't want it to be possible to mass produce villagers for effective trading or whatever. I want villages to seem natural, and fucking with it in any way will get your shit fucked up (But not like it is in oblivion where accidently clicking one button means death)
http://www.mediafire.com/?n68b65akbcrhdxr This is my test for a building style to use on a big server I play on. Just a small little area, not to big. Just follow the path and answer the end questions here. Thanks for feedback in advanced!
Is there a way to define a seed for a world before the option became available? Such as for Alpha 1.2.0.
This is the masterpiece I've been working on. Basically it's a mob sorter. It's linked up to my mega mob spawner (I've been working my ass off mob-proofing a 100x100 area and lighting up all the caves). On the second level, the levers can close one of the paths, push the stair to force the mob to go to the other path, open the lava gate, block mobs entering, etc. You can also just let them through. About 60% of them die on falling, and the rest survive the fall because of the water, at which they die at the lava (all of the drops are preserved).
There's a '2' on smooth sandstone.
EPISODE THREE
Been playing with Redpower2 ever since I saw that MSBasic video and it's freaking amazing. I highly recommend replacing the basic FORTH disc with the BASIC disc because it's far easier to program with and seems to be much more powerful.
