Hidden Assassin's Creed-esque switch blade you say? This I like.
Also, if villagers had voice work of some sort, anyone else imagine them sounding like Father Grigori from Half-Life 2?
using it in a non-flatworld should spawn you next to a Jungle

My automerge
Here is a seed for a flatworld of the latest snapshot that will spawn you in or near a village. Found it completely by accident

Oh I got one of those accidental cool seeds as well, snapshot, too. Basically spawn like normal, then turn around--ADGAF--a village.

Mein automerge.
Jeb seems to be reformatting how chunks work and making it so the biome is sewn into the chunk rather than the seed, so you can probably have an editor change the biomes.
He also apparently already made a converter.

I kinda think villagers should talk, but they shouldn't say actual words.
Just make strange noises that sound like talking.
Like they would come up to each other in the street and go "Bloh bluh bluh boh bluh." or somthing.

Quite possible the best villager idea ever.
The lead developer of the Technic Pack is a massive dick.
Some guy on the forums had a problem where just about everything was screwed up,asks people to tell him solutions and not tell him to just go look it up(which he already did),and this is Kakermix's response, and I quote exactly:
"Get bent, nobody owes you a goddamned thing.Take three days off, you've earned it."
Wow.
I love how the new villagers will actually treat ANY 2x2 space with a door and a torch in it as a house, now I can make my ridiculously large castle come to life with an entire servant's dormitory and the feeling of general business around the place.
NOW IF ONLY THE DUNGEON STOPPED COMING OPEN MAYBE THE ZOMBIES WOULD STOP KILLING MY SERVANTS
Oh my god YES so we can properly populate villages dynamically sweeeeeeeeeet
i reckon this map is good for minecraft

I sometimes like to think that the villagers are armless and it's actually blocky boobies on their chest.
So here's the way I reckon mobs breaking down doors should work.
Basically, any mob other than a slime or a creeper can break down a wooden door. Endermen simply pluck them up, whereas zombies and skeletons have to break them. Slimes can slip between the cracks in your door and gradually force through tiny chunks of itself into your house.
A wooden door can have a sign placed on it to barricade it. This means zombies and skeletons can still break it down, but they require a longer amount of time. Endermen can still just pick them up. Slimes can only force through yet tinier chunks of itself.
An iron door cannot be broken, but an Enderman can still pick one up, with a larger amount of time required to do so. Slimes are unable to penetrate it.
An iron door can be further reinforced. This means the door is too heavy for an Enderman to lift, and it is now impenetrable by everything except a creeper blast.
What do you guys think?

what if people just blocked up doorways with planks?

God dammit, now I can't imagine them speaking any other way. Except for maybe a creepy nasal voice.
what if people just blocked up doorways with planks?
Well you could do that I guess, but then we'd need to make zombies able to break wooden planks. Which would make sense, I guess.

well what if i blocked my doorway with cobble? or diamond blocks? would we need to make zombies able to break those too?
TBH zombies should seek the easiest way in/most obvious, and maybe try climbing onto roofs and breaking those would be nicer than breaking down random blocks. Also, zombies should be able to infect you, sorta like the spider poison, but it kills you if you leave it untreated for long enough.
However, what I really, really, REALLY want is that if one zombie sees you it can call out and attract other zombies/mobs to the area, or maybe increase the zombie spawn rate
I miss my first actual world, where I had enough of an idea of what I was doing to make it more than a couple nights. Minecraft back then was hard because I didnt have tons of experience and I was prone to making the wrong decisions sometimes.
I kind of wish I had my first world so I could see what I did. I remember it being pretty cool.
They could have a few variations of a "Huba hu hu bafa waf" talk for whenever villagers talk to eachother, and if you want to talk to a villager you can right click him and he'll either say "I'm busy"/"Go away" (In a chat bubble above his head) and he'll make the sounds, or he'll say "Hello!" or something and make a slightly better toned noise, and you can right click him again and it'll open a GUI with things you can ask the villager/trade with the villager.

Yes...Didn't "Notch" say that Minecraft's final-final-FINAL version was going to be some sort sandbox RPG a la The Elder Scrolls?

What didn't he say...
There will never be a final final version.
Didn't Notch say he was going to finish the game before releasing it?
Notch is never true to his word.
Notch is never true to his word.
The only time Notch is ever correct is when he says that he will go vacation.
Didn't he say he was taking vacation until February, got some small amount of work done on Minecraft during January, and then handed the entire game to Jeb?
He was somehow able to lie about going on vacation.
Is there a way to fix this?

Minecraft was awesome back when I didn't have a fucking clue how anything worked, and just managing to craft rails was a bloody miracle that had me smirking all day.

Someone needs to make a tool that opens up an overview of our maps and lets us paint biomes on it
