Are all the mods like buildcraft or industrial craft and that jazz not too complicated? I don't like to be bothered around with Redstone too much, so I wonder if I'd feel the same with that.
If you don't want to be bothered with redstone, don't even consider getting Buildcraft or Industrialcraft. The majority of the aspects in both mods are incredibly complex, moreso than redstone, and a most of both implement redstone in one way or another. If you want a mod that's complicated but not based in redstone, Thaumcraft is still very fun.
Thanks for the reply, mate
Are all the mods like buildcraft or industrial craft and that jazz not too complicated? Because it helped me a lot.
I only need 4 more Eyes of Ender. My body is ready.
The seed Kill you'reself seems to be a bit serious, spawning you on a very small island with no trees.
how so? isn't buildcraft the machines and stuff while redpower adds basically wires and hollow blocks and panels?
RedPower 2 allows you to do pretty much anything Buildcraft can do, but you have to actually work for it and not make a "magic box" that just does shit for you. It's also entirely possible to make your own quarries that mine many times faster than Buildcraft quarries, and it's also possible to make them self-propelled so you're not left with a big ugly frame that you have to manually tear down. Plus they don't give a shit about lava, they just power through it.
No I'm talking water/lava pumps.
It's only better in the sense that Buildcraft allows you to store 16 buckets of shit in a single block, which makes no sense. In RedPower you have to MAKE your OWN silos and tanks.
I'm having a big problem. Whenever I try to install mods, they behave very strangely. I've tried forcing updates many times and reinstalling the mod yields the same (Extremely serious) bugs. Both Single Player commands' World Edit and TooManyItems in multiplayer have extremely annoying and strange bugs. For Single Player commands, the worldedit field that I define will expand itself in what seems like a random direction every time I try to use it. When I set a 2D field into cobble, it'll be 2 tall, and if I'm replacing something, it can replace a massive area that isn't even close to what I selected. I have been using World Edit for a long time, so I'm not making any sort of error when I define an area. With TooManyItems, when I use it on a private multiplayer server that I have set up (I'm OP there), instead of giving me items when I try to withdraw them, it trys to tell me that I cannot enchant that stack of items. I've tried scouring minecraft forums and google for any sign that these bugs affect somebody else, but I appear to be the only one. Anybody have advice? Is it possible that something is wrong with my copy of java?

Only thing you can do for now is wait it out, update your java, and make sure you don't use conflicting mods.
Got a link for that map? Sounds interesting.
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/873557-survadv-%E2%98%A0%E2%98%A0-quad-mountain-survival-%E2%98%A0%E2%98%A0/
Set up my house in the middle island to have a more convenient access to all 4 mountains surrounding it. Also fenced it up so my chocobo won't wander off when I won't notice. [editline]wat[/editline] What happened to auto merge?
People need to stop using chunky
Also fenced it up so my chocobo won't wander off when I won't notice.
That reminds me, I need to find a good transporting mod, mostly with animals. Would Chocobos be recommended or just find something with horses?
Because we all know that RaptorRed totally doesn't use some sort of out-character camera :downs:
Those shaders are really weird; the lilypads are casting long shadows, but the massive hill isn't, and the sun is on the OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE SHADOWS
I know, but they can look so nice at times that I decided to keep Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders instead of getting rid of it. [editline]23rd June 2012[/editline]
That reminds me, I need to find a good transporting mod, mostly with animals. Would Chocobos be recommended or just find something with horses?
Why not have both the chococraft mod and a mod that adds rideable horses? I like chococraft because the chocobos it adds add different types that have useful abilities I.E:
1. Yellow Chocobos are the average chocobos and have no clear abilities. 2. Green Chocobos have the ability to climb, which means that they don't need to jump in order to go up a block that is one step higher. 3. Blue Chocobos have the ability to cross water, which means that they don't won't sink in water and will travel fast in water. 4. White Chocobos have the ability to climb and cross water, and are faster than the previous ones. 5. Black Chocobos have the ability to jump high, climb and cross water, and are as fast as the white ones. 6. Gold/Pink/Red Chocobos have the ability to fly, climb and cross water, don't take fall damage, and are the fastest chocobos.
and it generally adds a fair amount of content for me to mess around with. but if you're just looking for transportation, try to find a mod that only adds horses. regardless, both work. Also, forgot to mention, you get the different types of chocobos by breeding them.
All those saddles and instructions for different stages really puts it off. Kind of wish there was a mod that just had a theme-fitting mob you could just saddle up and skedaddle.

This looks pretty fun. It'd be cool to set up a server with 10 or so people and give each person a helicopter, set up teams and all that and captains. (Maybe even have a battleground-like thing with a limited number of helicopters, and have gold/chainmail teams like that one Sethbling game)... But I'm probably romanticizing.
I have a 'problem' in that I've lost my will to play Minecraft. When I start it up, I find it very boring and old. I might have just played it too much, but I can't seem to enjoy it anymore.
Anybody know of a program that will automatically generate parts of your world for you? I want to find a village in my snapshot world but I'm a bit lost and I want to have a good idea on where to go to find one.

I'm not sure if this is the right thread for questions, but I don't stop by this subforum often. I've got my game updated to the latest version, and everything works fine, but right clicking on villagers doesn't open a trade window. I've googled ways to fix it but the results are all for that old millenaire mod.
It's a snapshot. If you want the village trading system, you need to get the latest snapshot from Mojang. Latest snapshot with the latest features. http://www.mojang.com/2012/06/minecraft-snapshot-week-25/
Err, just to note, Admist shows all POSSIBLE village/stronghold/temple sites, but when you go to the area it may or may not actually be a village.
Huh, it shows villages on the map, and if you go there, you'll find a village, maybe a few meters off, but it'll be there. Everything has its own marker on the map.
Well, here we go again. Just finished building this, AGAIN
