I was playing on a server with a friend and building something underwater when I noticed that a Testificate was spawned in the water near me (we were using Creative so anyone could have spawned him). I kept checking on him between dives and I flipped my shit because he had made a tree, then a 6-block hut, then a dock, etc.
Then I killed him and he dropped... all the items I knew my friend had.

So, me and a few friends are going to set up a 32-slot public (with whitelist obviously) Bukkit server. I'm planning on making a thread in Games in Progress once it's up. Before I do this however we were interested in knowing what mods do people like on their servers? We were thinking of a private chest mod and a lumberjack mod, but what do you guys think? What makes the perfect server?

Personally, I'm a fan of Factions as a background plugin. It handles your griefing protection and chest protection, and has the added benefit of small (or large) groups being able to pool their resources and work together more officially.
However, Factions doesn't like to play nice with a lot of things. If you do consider going with Factions, try to keep the add-in plugins to a minimum, or things quickly spiral out of control.

In my (unprofessional) opinion, a good server doesn't have chest or block protection. The players would at least be knowledgeable enough to hide their crap [i]very well[/i]. Also should be unprotected so either sieges would be interesting or to correct some building errors for a friend.

Shit, just killed him. I thought he'd actually do damage. Only took 30 minutes in total to find the stronghold, find the portal, kill the dragon, and then spend some extra time getting some extra ender pearls.

Oh yeah, and you can get the egg by starting to break another block, and then move your mouse onto the egg, and then it doesn't teleport away.
If I beat the Enderdragon, I would steal the egg then keep it on my fireplace as a hunting trophy.

Also is it just me or does lighting in caves seem a bit different? Everything seems darker and nicer.

Notch cared. He was just too lazy to do anything about it. Jeb's a go-getter with real sticktoitiveness. He gets things done.
So ever since MineCraft: Pocket Edition got that Survival Mode update, I've been playing it non-stop, killing zombies assuming they don't care the shit outta me first.
Man, I need to play the PC version...
I noticed the bubbling noise too. It really wasn't loud enough though, and it took me a while to realize it was the lava.
I'm really late on this and been searching all over to find an answer to why mining acts differently in single player. There's a delay in between breaking blocks so with enchants like Efficiency IV I cannot break blocks such as sand and dirt at rapid speeds unlike multiplayer, where I can.
Anyone know what causes this or if there's a fix around it. It's really put me off playing single player more than I already am.
