I think one of these Russian kids stole my account too, but I luckily got it back. Mojang needs to get on their fucking shit and fix this now.
I haven't logged in Minecraft in like 2 months, should I be worried about this scriptkiddy hacking nonsense?
This is my current Tekkit work station:
Outside, some FLAX.

Inside, main working with a bit of chests.

Is the purpose of flax just to provide a non-spider source of string?

Yeah. Also used for paint.
tekkit feels so imbalanced, I want to like it but it barely takes any time at all to get to the endgame

Disable EE then. Really, if you don't have EE, it's a lot more of a challenge.
After playing vanilla minecraft since alpha, I feel that I am ready to use mods. Are there any recommended "starter" mods for new mod users?

I personally like smart moving. It's fun to climb around things and the animations are satisfying, and it isn't trying to be a super-ninja-parkour mod.
I wish rails could be set without a block, it'd make Rope Bridges a lot easier.

Tekkit, seriously learn it, it's super fun but can be semi hard.
Also theese are the best video tutorials out there for tekkit.

He's only good with some mods. You're better off just reading the appropriate wikis.

I started playing the mod, hoping to get into the industry part, then got distracted by EE. It's easy to get power-drunk when you have a machine that can synthesize anything out of nothing but light and armor that not only doesn't wear out and sucks up all damage, but affords you destructive powers as well.
However, I will admit that it significantly eases the creation of some industrial components. Making a shitload of lapotron crystals isn't so hard when you can synthesize your diamonds.
Was going to get Minecraft again, but the Website decided to piss me off by NOT letting me log in.
I tried everything and it still says it dosent recognise the username/password.

You can synthesize diamonds with IC2 too, you know

No, just change your password.
You can synthesize diamonds with IC2 too, you know
Yeah, but that's the thing. You either gotta gather up fucktonnes of coal and run it through various machines until it's ultimately compressed down into a single diamond, or set up a mass fabricator which requires energy and needs a bunch of cobble generators feeding into a recycler in order to work at reasonable speeds. Whereas with EE, even a weak and incomplete collector-flower setup will crap out diamonds faster than a fully beefed up mass fabricator, out of fucking nothing, for free, completely uninterrupted.
idk if this is late or not

jesus christ that GUI
Any of you fellas every play on a jail server before? If so, you can probably relate to my problem of people in diamond armor with an enchanted sword walking around slaughtering people who just happen to be in the wrong place at the right time.
What I'm trying to ask is would any of you guys be kind enough to spare some PvP tips? I'm so bad I lost to a guy with a stone sword while I was in full iron armor with an iron sword on a Hunger Games server.

He explains the basics really well and he is not as annoying like honeydew and as boring as xephos.
I feel sorry for him helping them with their Jaffa cake factory, just waiting for sjin, Rythian and sips to kill them. Can't. WAIT.

Also what do I do with my minecraft account? This Russian stuff scares me a bit.

Don't hold mouse button down, click it to swing faster.
Jump to crit.
Keep moving to avoid getting hit.
Surprise attack if you lay the first hit.
Avoid groups ffs.
Use bow at first if you have one.
Be sure to be full on health unless YOU get surprise attacked.
Have an escape path.
I know SG3 so well so this should help mostly, mainly because I helped make it. :v:
Hope this helps, but the best thing you can do is to avoid heat until you got ton of resources, unless you stumble upon someone you know you can kill.
Apparently, someone had tried to reset my mojang account password, and it wasn't me.
Just saw the email that was sent to me 5 hours, I can still log in to my minecraft account fine, but I use a different e-mail for my minecraft account anyways.
The section rules really need to be updated, it says to post your minecraft servers in Games in progress. How confusing.

Which is precisely why I hate EE.
Which is precisely why I hate EE.
This appears to be a matter of personal preference, then. I love EE because 1.) everything in the game (and most things in the mods) have an internally-consistent value and I can trade for whatever items I want or need, which appeals to something in me, and 2.) I can finally do something useful with the absolute fucktons of cobblestone and gravel that I end up having, which would otherwise be completely useless.
To me, playing Minecraft survival isn't completely about the challenge, because at a certain point it becomes "stay in your base, farm underground, never encounter mobs again" unless you choose to do otherwise. Likewise, you're not forced to use EE, you can choose to utilize it to ease your game but nothing really requires that you do.
Likewise, you're not forced to use EE.
Get a mod and don't use it, got it.
I do get what you're saying though, but that's not his point. EE has internally consistent values but they need to be tweaked along with quite a few other things in the mod. It takes a few hours on a good playthrough, not even that, to get to EE's endgame red matter.

I probably should have clarified that I meant in the context of Tekkit; I have that but I don't use any of the RedPower stuff because it's not to my taste. I'm trying not to go off on a tangent, however, I do understand the reason for dislike.

EE by itself is pretty balanced; the fact that you can use quarries, cobblestone generators and whatnot is what imbalances the EE mod and, in turn, the industrial mods
One way to remove some of the OP that is EE. Don't use Collectors, use relays and condensers and pump in shit you don't need like that 1,000 stacks of dirt.
