Any of you fellas every play on a jail server before? If so, you can probably relate to my problem of people in diamond armor with an enchanted sword walking around slaughtering people who just happen to be in the wrong place at the right time. What I'm trying to ask is would any of you guys be kind enough to spare some PvP tips? I'm so bad I lost to a guy with a stone sword while I was in full iron armor with an iron sword on a Hunger Games server.
If you have a regen pot or a golden apple, use it before entering a battle. Extremely fucking useful. Unless your bow is enchanted to shit, it won't do anything to diamond armor. Only a decent diamond sword can get through it.
I always edge forward and backwards to get in and out of range of their attacks while I attack them with a sword. Using a bow, always aim above the enemy's head if they are at least 7 blocks away. For every block, edge the crosshair up a little. You do not ever want to get involved in any kind of PvP until you have diamond armor and enchanted weaponry. Anyone with protection III and up armor is impossible to kill unless if they die by regular fall damage. Players who have a bad connection will ALWAYS be able to hit you more than you can them, because Minecraft thinks you're not hitting their hitbox while they're teleporting around.
Haven't played Minecraft in a while, has the SP/MP merge thing been added so me and friends can join each others SP games? Also what's this tekkit mod, I know it's a multiplayer mod but what does it do? :v:
I never had actually thought that Diamond Armor was that strong before you guys started discussing it.

It's the SMP version of the Technic mod pack. www.technicpack.net
I want to make a furnace room where each furnace has a redstone torch above it and when it has cooked material inside of it the torch will go on. I know you can do this with double T flip flops (Something like that) but I don't know exactly how. Could someone cook up (heh) some images showing me how exactly?
Ban Mr_Blue_Sky from your servers or just deny his white list. He came on my server with an account hack and when I didn't let him be a moderator on the server he attacked it with a huge amount of accounts spamming "Niggers burn", using a couple different IPs. I know it was him because I banned a spammer's IP and it happened to be his own IP. He's been banned before from facepunch for hacking/selling stolen accounts, I just thought I'd give you guys heads up. His FP name is trent_roolz he's currently permabanned.
In case anyone missed it, there's a new snapshot this week. And the full changelog by Redstonehelper on Reddit:

They're designed to detect when a block updates, including furnaces going from cooked/not. If you toy with them in a flatland world before you try hooking them up, you'll get a better understanding of them than I could give to you. Reverse engineering something is the best way to learn when it comes to the hands-on of Redstone, imo.
This is long needed. Now I'd like an 'accuracy' change with difficulty for skeletons.
When I went back and replayed beta 1.7, I found myself being able to easily dodge skeleton arrows at practically any distance. Now, you're lucky if you can go up against a skeleton without taking at least one hit.
I'm having a problem building my first house, didn't expect this game to be so god dang hard.
This is long needed. Now I'd like an 'accuracy' change with difficulty for skeletons.
Skeletons already hit really hard on hard difficulty, no need to make them even stronger.
Skeletons already hit really hard on hard difficulty, no need to make them even stronger.
I think its because they have pinpoint accuracy even on easy
Been making this today. The front so far: Stairs within the guard tower: My OCD went haywire on several occasions when I had to correct symmetry issues, but I'm pleased with the result so far.
Skeletons already hit really hard on hard difficulty, no need to make them even stronger.
Their accuracy now could be the 'hard' difficulty accuracy. Then it would go down from there.
I'm not sure if I like or hate ravines. They can look really cool at times. Or sometimes they're horribly ugly. Mineshafts though. Mineshafts are the scum of the earth.
I think someone here once made a town built along the 'shelves' of a ravine, it looked excellent. Ravines can look good, but they're a huge nuisance sometimes. Like when you're running around the surface and next thing you know, you're plummeting to your doom because of a very small hole.
Their accuracy now could be the 'hard' difficulty accuracy. Then it would go down from there.
I don't think the accuracy really needs tweaking. They miss often enough already at longer distances, if you lower it for the other difficulties, they'll never hit. Damage scaling is enough I feel.
Skeleton arrows aren't really that bad. Long as you time your blocking you'll take half damage and can cut them down quickly.
Skeleton arrows aren't really that bad. Long as you time your blocking you'll take half damage and can cut them down quickly.
Except when you're in 1 block deep water and they keep knocking you back while you try to get to them.
Except when you're in 1 block deep water and they keep knocking you back while you try to get to them.
In an instance like that you should be backing off until you can find dry land. Simultaneously dodging the arrows and regaining your footing.
I'm not sure if I like or hate ravines. They can look really cool at times. Or sometimes they're horribly ugly. Mineshafts though. Mineshafts are the scum of the earth.
I remember in the 1.8 pre-release when mineshafts were like this horrible never-ending labyrinth of tunnels and cobwebs. As soon as the world generated one it would keep on generating more because it was designed to continue the shaft if it crossed a chunk boundary, and they almost always did, which led to self-perpetuation. [editline]24th July 2012[/editline]
I think someone here once made a town built along the 'shelves' of a ravine, it looked excellent.
On my old creative server we set up a city in the first ravine that we found. It was pretty neat; I'm surprised that kind of thing doesn't show up more often.
It would be interesting to build a city inside a mineshaft. It sounds like something you'd find on 2b2t though.
I really wanna play this Technic Pack shit but the getting started tutorial I found only went up to getting and using a macerator, and the rest just goes WAY over my head.
I really wanna play this Technic Pack shit but the getting started tutorial I found only went up to getting and using a macerator, and the rest just goes WAY over my head.
If you want I can set up a Tekkit(ew my fingers burn from typing this) server and teach you some things.
Nah it's fine man, thanks though. I think I'll just see how far I can get by myself, and ask questions when I can't figure it out. [editline]23rd July 2012[/editline] whoa what the fuck was that a werewolf it dropped a stone hoe and an iron sword but i almost died oh god i think i'm having a heartattack also destroy this villages inhabitants yes/no [editline]23rd July 2012[/editline] Fuck it I killed them all. Man, woman, child, they all died by my hand.
Does anyone know of a good seed with a big flat area? I want to make a big compound and call it Flak Enterprises because I had to use that name to sign some form thing and the name has stuck with me.
whoa wtf they respawned I thought villagers stayed dead when you killed them
They make babies at night.
