god dammit, the ONE Norman village I found was made entirely of dirt and wood, just like the mayan ones I found, and it didn't even have good loot, so it wasn't worth slaughtering the villagers
Any of you guys see Conan today? He was reviewing Minecraft on the 360.
"I don't know what playing this game accomplished. The graphics had no effort put into them at all, this game is a C."
Is there a way to choose which parts of the technic pack to enable? Millienare really ruins the feel of singleplayer.
config/Modloader.cfg
You can enable/disable any mods there.
[editline]24th July 2012[/editline]
Don't know there the technic pack stores stuff though. Sorry.

This wasn't even funny.
Was he ever funny? I used to think so, back in like 2000 or something, but now I just don't know what I was thinking.

Maybe fallen trees will generate in the world, that would be cool. Not sure if this stuff will be in the 1.3 release, it seems too close to be adding something like that.

I would love to see trees finally falling over when cut. Imagine that with a giant tree.
So guys I started to play Minecraft again recently because summer boredom
Right now I've got ten diamonds but it's been fucking ages since I last played, like before Enchantments and stuff was added. What do I do with the diamonds? Enchantment table or should I go to the Nether and get stuff for Alchemy? I dont know!
Goddamn it, I was trying to use Pinkemma's tome mod (The one that adds lecterns, and writeable books, etc) but I get index out of bounds error, what a disappointment.

Enchant so that going to the Nether for alchemy won't be as hard.
Or getting fortune and having too much coal.
that be cool it'd be a useful private chat kinda thing.

I wish I could use the minions mod with technic :(

Hello, I would need some knowledge on how to horribly corrupt a world of mine. It's for my very own server me and my friends play on.

Corrupt as in make the actual world a living hell, or fuck up the actual save file?
Corrupt as in make the actual world a living hell, or fuck up the actual save file?
Making the world a living hell. Chunk errors everywhere.
Making the world a living hell. Chunk errors everywhere.
Hmm...
Your best bet would be going into MCEdit and having a field day. Use brush tool and chunk deleter to your heart's content.
[editline]24th July 2012[/editline]
Actually on second thought, the deleted chunks would just regenerate. :v: So don't actually delete them, just make really ugly deep ditches.
With lava.
And obsidian.
I just had a crazy idea: maybe it could be possible to make a server-wide internet-ish thing with ComputerCraft and Redpower?
Bear with me: ComputerCraft allows you to make custom programs. Redpower has wireless redstone transmitters and receivers.
If someone wrote a program that translates text to redstone signals (morse code maybe?) and sends it wirelessly through wireless redstone, and the same program, on someone else's computer has a wireless redstone input and then translates the signals to text it could work :o
[editline]24th July 2012[/editline]
This idea came to me just now, when I was thinking about my server-wide clock system
If you get 4 wireless redstone receivers you can use my system, and a full spin is 10 minutes (while a real life clock is 12 hours)
Computercraft has modems and wifi

A) Since when did RedPower have wireless transmitters? Computercraft does.
B) With RedPower's computer, it sort of makes Computercraft redundant, and vice versa. All CC is is just a redstone-based Lua terminal. RP's computer at least makes computing a more worthwile thing with a reward.
C) A "Rednet" has been done, if I recall. Personally, a server-wide BBS would be better. Just enable CC's networking API.

Redpower doesn't, it's the Wireless Redstone Mod by Chickenbones.

That would be really cool if the server only had local chat so you couldn't talk to people unless you where so close to them. Otherwise, eh.
The novelty of an in-game network is probably outweighed by the fact that there's a built-in chat system.
Look up some video tutorials on "buddy blocks" or BUD switches. They're designed to detect when a block updates, including furnaces going from cooked/not. If you toy with them in a flatland world before you try hooking them up, you'll get a better understanding of them than I could give to you. Reverse engineering something is the best way to learn when it comes to the hands-on of Redstone, imo.
I know BUD switches and how the work. However if you simply have a furnace hooked up to a bud switch, the light will either simply be on when the furnace is on or off when the furnace is off, meaning it does nothing. I want it to be on when the furnace has finished cooking, which requires a bit more complicated redstone than simply a budswitch and a light.

You can't control redstone with chat messages.
I mean I'm sure there's a mod for that but it's besides the point

I don't think that's actually possible. Unless a block update is given when one item is cooked and you hook up a counter. And even then you'd have to always smelt the same amount.
