If you get NBTedit you can change the player's position so that when you open up the map next you'll be at the same coordinates that you died in. Alternatively, you can use MCedit and move the player to wherever you need to be, and I'd recommend that over the NBTedit method since you get a visual of what and where stuff is. [editline]27th July 2012[/editline] What purpose does the scaffolding serve? Is it just an aesthetic thing so that it doesn't look like pipes are randomly floating everywhere?
How do I do it with MCedit? It's pretty far away from the spawn and I don't know how to look at what currents coords I am at, so I can't fly over there
What servers out there are vanilla or tekkit, with towns? This is the last touch up I did to the statues infront of the hatshepsut temple: The statues now actually look a bit more like animals in contrast to what they used to look like:
I know this is a pain and you probably get asked this a lot but what mods/texture pack are you using?
Does the Technic pack have the Zeppelin mod in it?
Hello, I would need some knowledge on how to horribly corrupt a world of mine. It's for my very own server me and my friends play on.
find the thingy which holds the world data, open it in hex editor and mess around, only hit the middle of the save though

Another problem though is that MCEdit only understands default Minecraft blocks, so every block added by a mod will show up as unknown, regardless of whether the game can handle it.

I just used the frame blocks for that, like the ones produced during quarry set-up.

In reality it was just for moving the player position, which it's pretty good at.
I kind of feel bad about decimating that village, now. All those buildings just sitting there, so empty...
dude, arent those frames? afaik frames can actually be moved and stuff
I know, I plan to make an elevator using them. Since there aren't any frame motors around, I doubt they'll move on their own.
MCPatcher wont start, what do I do? Because it's starting to really piss me the fuck off And it doesn't help that Minecraft decided to shit itself and have no sound GOD DAMN IT

can someone help me remove these goddamn lines bordering... every block and other things (the torch and random text) I've tried re-installing like 4 times and tried other texture packs. Does anyone know anything about Tekkit using mods without the author's permission? Someone went off on a rant at me about not using Tekkit because it stole mods, but that sounds like a load of crap.
Does anyone know anything about Tekkit using mods without the author's permission? I have no idea if it's true, might just be a rumor.
Hi everyone, i have to ask something, we are 4 guys playing minecraft together, and i'm searching for more maps. It seems they like survival PvP's like The Walls. Do you know any more like this?
Survival Games / Hunger Games / BattleRoyale
Not when it's thick, like in block form, no. When it gets thinner though, like maybe knife thickness, it's transparent like smoky glass, and you can also get a pretty sharp blade out of it. If I recall, some stone-age implements utilized obsidian for a cutting edge.
Obsidian blades are sometimes used in surgical grade scalpels, that's how sharp they can be.
Obsidian blades are sometimes used in surgical grade scalpels, that's how sharp they can be.
It's because they have an edge finer than any metal and cuts way more cleanly.
Problem is that it's brittle as fuck..
Problem is that it's brittle as fuck..
So would diamond. It may be the hardest natural substance but it'd shatter if a sword was made out of it. I want obsidian swords, but they should be slightly weaker than diamond, but get shit enchants.
Gonna ask again. Made a SP world in Tekkit, died and the bed was bugged. Had walked over 1,5k blocks to get there and it was mostly on the ocean. I can't walk there because the things I had will despawn, and iirc those were really good things. Any programs that can get me back? Tried MCedit but I have no idea how to get there as the chunk loads so darn slow and the teleporter doesn't seem to work properly.
So would diamond. It may be the hardest natural substance but it'd shatter if a sword was made out of it. I want obsidian swords, but they should be slightly weaker than diamond, but get shit enchants.
If it's weaker than diamond and gets shitty enchantments, what point is there to having them? It doesn't make sense in the context of the tier scheme either; you need diamonds to obtain obsidian, which would place it on the tier above diamond. Making it usable in a tool that's shittier than the tier below it makes no sense. Maybe if it had lower or equal damage to diamond but got better enchants, or if it did more damage but was unenchantable, then it would make sense.
Diamonds are more valuable, though. Obsidian is easily obtainable, all you need is 3 diamonds. After that you can get a vast amount of obsidian. You have to remember that it's, in a sense, renewable.
Yes I have heard that too. I have no idea if it's true, might just be a rumor.
Apparently the complaint is that, instead of making people go through the stupid adfly link shit and installing things on their own, Tekkit/technic just directly installs the mods and "steals" money from the mod makers. Even though iirc it's not legal to make money off of Minecraft mods anyway. Is this true?
If it's weaker than diamond and gets shitty enchantments, what point is there to having them? IMO, though, tools should be left to ores. Obsidian is not an ore, it's volcanic glass. If you were being even partway realistic with obsidian tools they'd turn into what gold is - very powerful but very weak. A volcanic glass cannon, so to speak.
