Besides, what we should be able to do is break blocks of obsidian down into arrowheads
I like the arrowheads idea. Break obsidian into flint, or put 9 pieces of flint together for 1 obsidian.

Um, flint is a totally different thing from obsidian. Crafting obsidian from such an easy to get mineral is also overpowered and not balanced. Just have obsidian in the crafting grid give like 5 obsidian arrowheads used to make obsidian tipped arrows that do more damage against armoured opponents than normal arrows. (Obisidan is sharp as fuck when handled correctly and I cut myself once when playing with it up at a tourist cave near Waco. Much sharper than flint)

Obsidian flint should create arrows that are slightly (slightly, say half a heart?) stronger to give obsidian a bit more of a use. Currently you craft 2 items and that's it, that's all you do with it. It's not a building material because it takes so long to mine out, and once your portal and enchantment table are done people rarely bother with more. Gravel, on the other hand, is quite a useful material. It drops, like sand, to allow for downward building, but it also has a texture suitable for making roads or decoration. Gravel should be craftable with flint and a cobblestone, also.
I also don't like the idea of normal flint being craftable into obsidian because that essentially means you no longer need diamond tools to make a portal, you'd be able to get one up before you've finished your first proper house in a world, while the Nether is a dangerous place.

I think there was something about at the start of technic and such, they didnt ask for the mod makers permissions to put them in the mod until they got flak for it

I was under the impression that Sengir added some code to forestry to fuck over tekkit and that's why it was removed.

Looked on the MCWiki and Gold Swords are just as damaging, but weaker than Wooden Swords, so Gold Swords are useless.

Yeah, they added some of the mods to the pack without contacting the authors, and didn't remove them even when asked. This led Sengir, the developer of Forestry, to add code to Forestry that would break it when it was used with the tekkit pack. The tekkit guys removed Forestry after this but it gave Sengir a pretty bad reputation, which is stupid really as he was just defending his work.
Also I seem to remember something about how tekkit changes some of the files of the mods to fix certain incompatibility issues, which many mod authors are annoyed about, and rightly so too.
And yeah, there's the issue of AdFly and the original authors not getting the money from their links.

It's just a simple chicken farm using RP2, but RP2 handles both the automation, and aesthetics. All the machines, tubes, and wires, are either in the top, bottom, or in one of the marble columns.
Can someone help me with MCPatcher? It just refuses to open. In task manager it says "javaw" is running but MCPatcher never comes up.

What's all the rage with tubes lately? It seems like a pretty cool mod.
So I finished my mob grinder that I had trouble with the other day.
Here is the inside:

The mob collection area is a fall of 22 blocks, leaving them ripe for exp grinding. I added a switch to enable a flow of water which pushes them into a lava grinder if I ever want to collect items afk.
Also included is a switch to raise/lower some half blocks so I can't get attacked by skeletons/creepers accidentally.

All of this is inside a haunted mansion, so it doesn't look garish on the landscape. The water elevator/fall is contained inside the chimney. Built over a cave system that is fully lit up.

This was made 100% legit, I just changed to creative for the screenshots.
I may add more levels underground when I feel like it, right now it is only about 8 levels of spawn-able area.
I wish I knew how to build those too.
Does anyone know a way you can mod a custom block to minecraft to your server and let users use it when they connect to your server without a client?
