Fuck this game, spent a whole day working on Tekkit and left the comp on. When I got back Tekkit was closed and when I opened my world all the blocks I had placed was gone, but the minerals I had used to make them were also gone.

Tekkit looks interesting, but I'd love something more basic first. What about Buildcraft and Industrialcraft?

I think the best thing to do would be to get it, then start out a fresh survival world with it. I tried doing creative first and was just overwhelmed by everything, but when I went survival (with my friends, no less, which made things easier) it was far easier to learn how everything works, because when you have to gather the materials and build things first, you get a better feeling for what does what. You can also completely ignore most aspects of one or more mods, so if you don't like RedPower or EE or w/e you can just choose not to build that stuff.

I'm doing that at the moment, just finished myself an automatic smelting facility. It's quite a mess inside, but it makes all the normal bars, plus refined iron and bronze.
I've been mucking about with tekkit for a little while, but I've only just decided to try doing stuff without cheating anything in. Now that I've made an energy condenser and mined a bit of uranium, I've pretty much got everything I'll ever need.
Does anybody else think that uranium's EMC value is a bug? I feel like I'm cheating.
I suppose it will be different when I get my reactor set up and I need all the uranium that I can get.
Equivalent Exchange in general feels like cheating.
Though I thought you couldn't transmute uranium?

You can with the latest version. Apparently it's worth half a diamond, although the version I have has a bug which makes it worth about 6 diamonds.
Uranium is like 11-12 diamonds

Infact, it is. But it's a later version than 1.4.6.2 which is odd.
The Technic Pack uses v1.4.6.7 and Tekkit uses v1.4.6.5
Uranium is far more common than diamond, in my experience, but the "worth six diamonds" bug I certainly don't complain about. Especially when I have almost no diamonds...
Could anyone suggest me any kind of auto clicking software for minecraft?

Well I tried it, and it was pretty awesome, but I think I'll just go with Minecraft with buildcraft.
for some reason, the technic launcher makes me lag hard.
I'm guessing it's probably from my shitty computer crying in pain of the many mods, so what are the key mods of technic/tekkit/yogbox to download?
Buildcraft and Industrialcraft are the big industry mods. Redpower lets you do crazy shit with redstone and microblocks. I also like Railcraft and Forestry but those are less critical for the flavor.

Aww, I just tried getting minecraft pocket edition for my android phone, but it isn't available on my device, guess I won't be playing any minecraft during my military service that starts in 6 days, how disappointing.

Stepped away from Tekkit for a bit to play Technic.
I have to say, Mo' Creatures is a pretty crap mod from my experience so far. Killed soon after I spawned by something I couldn't see because it turned my screen black and then had an ogre destroy my house as soon as I built it even though I was standing where it shouldn't have been able to see me.
Other than that I think both Tekkit and Technic are pretty cool. I really like using EE but it feels a bit cheap at times because of how it basically nullifies the other mods for resource gathering.
